MIRTA jewelry evolved from merging architectural design principles with traditional silversmithing techniques.
The collection redefines archetypal jewelry forms with a focus on clean technical detailing.
Each piece becomes a wearable miniature sculpture.

MIRTA was founded by Andrea Simic as a result of an ongoing material research developed during architectural studies.
Andrea is a Zagreb-based architect and designer. Hailing from a background in architecture at Zagreb Faculty of Architecture, as well as a year spent at Zagreb School of Design, she worked with various architects before falling into design. After making her first jewelry pieces, Andrea developed MIRTA in 2010 with the intention of merging strong concepts of architecture with the delicacy of jewelry.

I deeply appreciate natural materials. I also prefer to keep things simple.
Whether be making a gold/diamond ring or designing a wooden structure I feel an obligation to keep the design understated - to allow the natural beauty of the material to speak for itself. A designer can never compete with nature.

MIRTA jewelry is committed to environmental responsibility and ethical sourcing.
All jewelry is handcrafted in our Croatia, EU workshop with finest, mostly reclaimed precious metals (e.g. Ecogold), ethically sourced stones, and low-impact, low-tech, traditional silversmithing practices.

MIRTA jewelry was a finalist for Best accessories designer, Croatian ELLE style awards 2016.

All jewelry is handmade in my studio in Zagreb, Croatia. Every effort is put into using reclaimed gold and sterling silver that is not freshly mined.

Because of the nature of these items, unless they arrive damaged or defective, I can't accept returns for:

Returns and exchange details
If, for any reason, you wish to return your item, please contact us with your order number and you will receive a return address. Items must be returned within 2 weeks from delivery date. Once the items are returned to us in their original condition (including packaging), you will receive a refund. Please note, an item can only be returned if in its original, unused, unworn, unwashed, and undamaged condition.
Shipping charges are non-refundable.

Please note, some items are not eligible for return, such as rings & 18k gold items. All rings, 18k gold items and other items that are either customized or made to order at a specific size are considered final sale, unless defected. Products on sale, as well as other items purchased with a discount are also considered final sale.

Please check your size carefully before ordering. Each ring is made to order so we are able to offer a wide variety of sizes. Unfortunately, for this same reason, we can't accept exchange/refund for ordering the wrong size. We can, however, resize you ring for a €45/$50 fee. Customer is to pay shipping. Sizing may take 1-2 weeks.

PLEASE FOLLOW THESE STEPS WHEN RETURNING/EXCHANGING AN ORDER:

1. Send an e-mail to info [!at] mirtajewelry.com with subject "RETURN" (or Etsy message), and we will respond with a return confirmation
2. Once your return is confirmed, please make sure that all jewelry is packed neatly in their original jewelry boxes
3. Please make sure to state the package as a "RETURN" with value 0 on the outside of the package

All items come wrapped in gift boxes. Please note that all ordered items will be wrapped in one gift box unless stated otherwise.

CARING INSTRUCTIONS

9k & 18k Gold

All gold items are hand crafted using solid 9k or 18k gold. Pure gold is naturally tarnish resistant, but 9 and 18k gold are alloys in which pure gold is mixed with other metals (silver, copper). These other metals are here to improve the durability and mechanical properties, but they do tarnish. This is why even 18k gold can develop a patina (a slightly darker gold tone) if it is not cleaned before storing for a longer period of time, or if it is left in a moist environment. Please make sure to clean your jewelry items (according to instructions below) before storing them in a dry environment. Please note, our boxes are eco friendly and are free of chemicals that promote oxidation so it is always safe to store your jewelry in them.


925 Sterling Silver

Sterling silver can be cleaned with Silver Cleaner Solution and cloth, please follow manufacturer's instructions. Please remove jewelry prior to showering, before bathing in the sea or a swimming pool, and before going to bed. Please prevent jewelry from coming into contact with cleaning or beauty products.

Silver can naturally oxidize. To prevent oxidation, please make sure to clean your jewelry items (according to instructions below) before storing them in a dry environment. Please note, our boxes are eco friendly and are free of chemicals that promote oxidation so it is always safe to store your jewelry in them.


Oxidized Sterling Silver

Oxidized silver fades with wear. The more you wear your pieces, the sooner they will fade revealing the sterling silver beneath for a beautiful unique patinated finish. Oxidation lasts longer on pieces that are not too exposed to rubbing - earrings and necklaces. It is not possible to estimate the duration of the oxidized finish as it mostly depends on how the pieces are being handled, and due to the fact that they are oxidized by hand. Please note that possible scratches are more evident on oxidized jewelry, as they reveal the shiny silver hidden underneath the oxidized layer.

Oxidation can be renewed using liver of sulfur solution at a local jeweler or at home. If doing it at home, please follow the manufacturer's instructions. There is also an easier and safer method of oxidation with cooked eggs, but it can only result in a lighter tone of oxidation. For detailed instructions, please contact us.

You are also always welcome to send us your jewelry for re-oxidation, free of charge. We kindly request that you cover all shipping costs in this case.

Please remove oxidized jewelry prior to washing, showering, bathing in the sea or a swimming pool, and going to bed if you prefer to keep the oxidation for a longer period of time. Please prevent jewelry from coming into contact with cleaning or beauty products.


* We offer a lacquer (acrylic) coating to prolong oxidation on oxidized pieces, applied only by request (leaves a shiny surface). Keep in mind that this coating can still be scratched, leaving visible silver marks, as the oxidized layer adheres to the coating. Oxidized jewelry without coating fades more naturally, but faster as well.
