AnEnchantedFate

An Enchanted Fate has been in the works for a long time coming without me even realizing it. I have been creating things my entire life, and always toyed with the idea of making my childhood dream of being an artist and making a life of it a reality. I was told once (by a very wise person) that "Dreams can be put off, postponed or even delayed. But they must never be forgotten. Remember your dreams and follow them." And so I finally made the leap and changed my fate. The name of my shop comes from my love of things of enchantment, and fate comes from the latin word "fatos" meaning the fates, which is where the word faerie originates from.
Once upon a time, when I was a young girl, I became enchanted by fairy tales, mythological beings and stories of fantasy and the supernatural and my wish is to bring that passion to life through art. And putting that art onto items that can be used, carried, or worn.
I love finding and using unwanted books in my work, giving them a new fate and purpose in many different ways. Whether it be turning them into a tablet case, a secret hollow book, jewelry boxes, or making journals, I love working with books! There's a sense of antiquity that is embodied in books and I want to keep that alive somehow. Plus, I like the idea of being able to reuse something and recycle it into something else while still keeping the integrity of the item somewhat intact.

As a full time mom and wife, and a Librarian, time is a commodity that cannot be wasted, so if that means sleeping less to work on items for my shop, so be it! I truly enjoy painting/creating things as well as recycling. I love working on new things and working with my hands. As I continue to expand my shop, I'll be including carved clay works, shoes and other fantastical items.
