About

Sacred Art & Nature

The Goddess, known also as Mother Earth, is the feminine deity worshipped by the ancestral cultures since ancient times and she has always been manifested through art, from prehistory with the little stone figurines of rock art to the big marble goddesses from the ancient civilizations.
My inspiration to create Sacred Feminine sculptures was a trip to United Kingdom where I met an ancient tradition originally from Celtic culture which it has made resurge the Goddess after many centuries of being hidden. After this voyage to the sacred land of Avalon, I started sculpting clay goddesses of the Celtic pantheon and I also crafted them in papier-mâché. In 2011 I created a blog called Anerisart where I posted my figurines, crafts, writings and poems as a hobby. However, some years later I realized that art made me feel happy and fulfilled so I decided to be trained as a sculptress. Currently I have given a last impulse to my artistic project opening this online shop to reach as much people from worldwide as possible.

BIRTH OF A SCULPTURE BY THE FIVE ELEMENTS

The five elements intervene during the creation of a terracotta sculpture: clay comes from the Earth element which to shape it has to be very malleable so the Water element is required as well. At the same time this element is used to keep wet the sculpture in order to continue sculpting it for a long time; The Ether element is manifested through inspiration so the artist turns into an instrument to convey the universal energy as well as its own energy and feelings so that the sculpture may be fully impregnated; Once the work is finished, the Air element intervenes to dry the sculpture before the firing process. Finally, the Fire element hardens a clay statue at 1000 degrees Celsius in a ceramic oven to become a terracotta sculpture.

This is how my sculptures are made, with lots of love. I hope you enjoy my work as much as I create it.

Blessings,

Miriam Mora
