5 out of 5 starsThese books are so unique. My husband and I bought 5, one for each of our adult children. They absolutely LOVED THEM! Dana has so many different types that we were able to find a special one to fit each of our kid’s personality. You cannot go wrong with such a thoughtful and specialty gift!
About ANewChapterArtLLC
The Story behind A New Chapter Art
Just as every book has its own story, every person has their own story to tell. Each chapter is different but all together they weave a beautiful unique story.
As a lifelong crafter and avid reader, I have always enjoyed making items for my home but never thought of joining the two until I saw a book letter for sale. I first began creating book art in 2015 when I wanted a book letter for my home. Knowing I had boxes of vintage Reader’s Digest Condensed books in my attic and an old scroll saw in my shed, I set out to make my own. My dad, an avid woodworker, taught me how to use the scroll saw to cut the book. After posting the finished item to my Facebook page, friends began asking me to make book letters and other items for them. A New Chapter Art LLC was born! Beginning with only book letters, I soon expanded into names and simple silhouettes. As my skills improved, I began making more intricate silhouette book art. Due to the need to drill a hole to start the blade and the nature of books, I cannot cut extremely intricate designs.
Each book is carefully selected from among the hundreds of books at local library book sales and thrift stores. I look for books with interesting colors and titles, but without stains, mildew, funny odors or offensive words. Each book art sculpture is then designed drawing inspiration from the title. A book titled “Searching for Home” may be turned into a bird or cabin scene. Once cut, the books are hand sanded and cleaned. Some pieces of art will then have scrapbook paper glued into the book to enhance the silhouette, while others may be finished with a wooden ornament. Every item is handcrafted so no two books will be exactly alike even if the same pattern is used.
I love challenging myself to make new things, especially custom orders! I believe that each customer has a story to tell whether it’s as simple as "this piece reminds me of my dog" or as meaningful as a mom's favorite bird and flower. One of my favorite stories was a custom book for a colorblind boyfriend who loves to hike but cannot see red or green so we made sure to use vibrant colors he can see in the hiker piece designed just for him. You, your stories, and your passions are what keep me creating. Thank you for your inspiration, your words, your purchases, and your encouragement. I would love to help you carve out your story!

I love books! I love using them in my home decor just as much as reading them. When I'm not on the hunt for new books or making new art, you'll find me spending time with my family, shopping or working on the computer.

Care instructions
How do I care for my new book art?
Usually, dusting with a dry cloth is all that's needed. Using any type of liquid to clean will damage the book.
If your book art becomes dirty, an artist's eraser or a pink pearl eraser will usually take care of the dirt. Gently erase the spots then brush off the eraser crumbs.
If your book art becomes wet, blot with a dry cloth as quickly as possible to minimize damage.
