Fun gifts, handmade jewelry, and illustrations of cats

Portsmouth, New Hampshire

Announcement    I make art to make people smile. Here, in my fun little corner of the internet, you'll find colorful enamel pins, laser-cut jewelry, sparkly stickers, cheeky laser-cut ornaments, and whatever else I dream up.

The official "meow-scot" of Angry Gato is my orange cat Bowser, and he's featured prominently on a few items. One of his favorite pastimes is sitting on my lap while I'm drawing on my iPad. He grudgingly says hello.

All items are designed and/or fabricated by Lindsey Castellon.

"I adore enamel pins, and I've been playing around with laser-cut wood pins as well.\n\nI really like how they're coming out, and this means I can make pins MUCH more easily!\n\nThese will go up on my shop soon, but send me a message if you can't wait!"
"I love the way these pins pop against this hat. Also, you can see some other experiments I've done with making wooden pins. Stay tuned!"
"Our \"meow-scot\" is quality-checking his likeness on our new pin. He's not sure about all of the glitter."

Crafting for fun. Crafting for good.

It started in 2007, when I was making journals and teaching craft classes. In college, I started this (short-lived but fun) experiment called Craft-Along for a Cause. I'd pick a craft project that was useful, and I'd teach others how to make it. The idea was that participants would make one thing to keep and one thing to give. We distributed a dozen or so handmade journals to a local non-profit, and then life went on.

Fast forward many years to 2020. I've been doing some casual digital illustration for the past couple of years, mostly for fun and to make gifts for friends. Then, the world hears of this virus, and with it come terrifying reports of shortages of personal protective equipment. You know the stories - Google them if you must, this shop is a happy space.

I got linked with a collective in my native New Hampshire called Seacoast Mask Makers, and I bought a few yards of an adorable cat-unicorn fabric. I was excited to wear my first mask, and I had purpose despite considerable darkness in the world. I started posting my efforts onto Instagram and my friends resonated with it. People liked the fabrics I chose, especially for their kids.

I originally started selling masks to help offset the costs of materials, and this helped me make over 400 masks - many of which were donated to Seacoast Mask Makers.

However, now the world changes again. My local collective is wrapping up efforts, but my mission remains the same - I want to bring a little light and levity to the lives of others, especially if it helps make a scary time a little easier to bear.

I want to make things that make people smile, and I want my efforts to do a little good in the world.
