This ring is exactly what I wanted, thank you. The colours are lovely and I really like the raven design. I'm English but live in the States right now and it reminds me of home in the best possible way. I actually received this ring on the East Coast of the US only 10 days after ordering it. I had to wait until now to leave a review due to Etsy's "you can leave a review after [date]" embargo.

About

From very small acorns...

I started making jewellery in 2009 with a set of pliers, cutters a hammer and an old computer desk that had seen better days. At the time I was working as an Art Teacher and freelance designing in the evening for magazines: I wanted to return to making art in a more traditional way to escape the computer screen, but wanted to incorporate a lot of the ideas I'd developed 2 dimensionally, particularly with my now unmistakeable decorative pattern work, which is all laboriously drawn out by hand.
An opportunity to take up an artist's residency at my nearest University sealed the deal: I was working in the printmaking department, surrounded by the intoxicating smell of printing ink and stunning etching plates made by the students and other artists and wondered how amazing it would be if you could wear something like that...
My work has progressed dramatically since then - I now work in my own fabulous dedicated studio space secreted in quiet woodland at the heart of West Yorkshire, and am inspired daily by my woodland visitors, many of which adorn the pieces I make. I've journeyed a long way since my evenings wire wrapping stones at that old computer table, yet curiously, in a darker corner of my studio, that original table resides, reminding me of my humble roots.

Additional policies and FAQs
FAQ's
What is a patina?
A patina is basically a layer of oxidisation on the surface of the metal. Patinas have varying degrees of durability, and items with patinas should not be worn permanently if you wish to retain the finish for as long as possible. This is particularly pertinent for heat coloured copper items, as the patina can be fragile, (care instructions are included with all coloured copper items). On rare occasion, certain skin types are not well suited to coloured copper, causing a reaction with the patina due to the skin's PH and resulting in an untimely 'dulling of the piece'. if you wish to own a piece with a more durable patina, I would recommend either oxidised copper or heat coloured steel, which will last many years with more frequent wear.

What metals/materials do you work in?
I work predominantly in sterling silver, copper, aluminium, brass and steel, but can produce works in bronze, gold, platinum and palladium upon request.

Do you take on commissions?
I welcome commissions, and I love a challenge!

Do you make items in different sizes?
Cuffs and rings: Please indicate your preferred size in the notes at checkout. Items that are purchased without this information given by the customer will be made to the standard size as indicated in the listing description. Chain length: up to 24" in brass, this information can be given in the notes at checkout. (please contact me if you require a brass chain longer than 24") Standard length for silver chain is 16" or 18" (please indicate in notes, otherwise the most available length I have in stock will be supplied) For silver chain longer than 18", please contact me in the first instance.
