Happy Holidays!!
**New!!! Every order ships with a FREE SURPRISE GIFT!!!" We have been doing this a while, but we just decided to make it a standard procedure. **
**New!!! As of now, we are updating how we handle our charitable donations. Since we haven't made a large number of sales to balance our profit/loss numbers, we have decided that the sales of any of our items containing Autism Speaks Puzzle Ribbon or other materials will have the entire proceeds contributed to The Autism Speaks Foundation. You can learn about the organization at www.autismspeaks.org. Optionally, you can request that 20% of your purchase of any other item be donated to either autismspeaks.org or to The Ascension Fund (the local charity will have supported over the past year). We hope in this way, to continue our charitable giving while our shop builds a more stable revenue base. **

Firstly, I purchased one letter, then later realized that I wanted to purchased the entire name of the little girl would I gave this to- Chrys was so helpful and even put the remaining letters on hold JUST FOR ME! Talk about flexibility! :) They are absolutely gorgeous and made with such professionalism. The packaging was not only wonderful- but pretty! I barely had to wrap anything myself! We Take Custom Orders!!
A mom and her children use their crafty designs to pay for college and make a difference in the world at the same time.
Mom, disabled, began making her daughters beloved hair bows to save money. Friends said mom was good at it and should sell them. Mom deliberated. Mom had always wanted to do something to make a positive impact on the world. But, becoming disabled had pretty well scrapped all of her plans. After discovering she actually liked making bows and that they were pretty easy for her, mom decided to sell the bows for charity. But, she also wanted to be there for her children and provide them with valuable experiences to improves their chances at adult success. But, what kid wants to work for free???
For Marlyanne, the answer was simple. She gets her choice of every five non custom hair bows created. In addition, we named the shop after her (she's the only girl, so no objections were raised), and she got business cards and permission to tell everyone she meets that her mom sells hair bows. She was tickled pink!!
For the boys, the reward is college savings, and smaller chores requirements. They also get to choose HOW they are involved in the business so long as it's a real time investment and educational for them. Marlyanne gets college savings, too, of course.
For Reese, well, we don't know what he gets yet as he has not made any demands to date. He did request a steady diet of wooden clothes pins, but it was unanimously determined that this would not be a beneficial reward for his hard work and patience. We are strongly considering vaccinations and neutering. He is not find of the idea, but democracy, you know. Also being considered is a unending supply of beggin' strips and knuckle bones.
Dad gets additional time on the xbox, a less bored wife, and well, supposedly a more cooperative family, but all that is probably still debatable. Losing the expense of buying hair bows from someone else, as well as a semi-monthly bag of Reese's peanut butter cups seem to keep him sufficiently appeased.
Amy gets half off all products for all of her support and someone to hang out with.
What do I get? Well, I get to give all of the above, plus feel like less of a useless person and more like a contributing member of society. I get to do things I like and be creative and shop for supplies. I get to be closer to my children, play with my dog, visit my friend, save money for my children, provide bows for my daughter, and contribute to a worthy cause.
All of this is really nothing to sneer at. And maybe one day, this will mean that I don't have to live on disability anymore.
Our pricing and financial structure is to be updated annually, in order to provide opportunity for real success to be capitalized upon, but we will ALWAYS donate a portion of our proceeds to charity and we will always be saving money for college, if not for these three children then for our future grandchildren, etc.

Here, you will find extravagant Hair Bows for your ruff and tumble girl (or yourself).
We believe that being beautiful comes from the inside.
We DON'T believe beauty should restrain us from climbing trees or rocking with our garage band.
We also believe that feeling beautiful sometimes comes from taking good care of yourself and even wearing something special.
There is no such thing as TOO pretty.
So, take your beauty and make it even more luscious and flamboyant than before.
Remember, when someone compliments your Hair bow, respond with a smile and a "Thank you" and know that a bow is just decoration for a beautiful soul. Oh, and don't forget to tell them where you got it.
Here at ANNE'S RIBBON GARDEN, we have some values that we work to instill in our everyday lives:
HARD WORK
CREATIVITY
HONESTY
RESPECT
WILLINGNESS TO LEARN
FRUGALITY
INTEGRITY
COURTESY
QUALITY
TRANSPARENCY
ETHICS
CHARITY
KINDNESS
These values are important to us, us being myself, my children, and my husband.
I created this venture to fill my time while my children are in school. I can only clean so much, right?
I started making bows for ANNE, realized in order to do so cheaply, I had to buy more ribbon than I need for each bow. So, I decided to sell bows made from the leftover materials.
Then, my children wanted to help. So, we struck a deal. They help out in exchange for contributions to their college savings accounts. In addition, I saw the opportunity to teach them more about giving to others and doing their part in the world and to teach them a little about economics and business.
My daughter insisted we name the shop for her, since she is the one who wears bows and she would give me free advertising. She loves posing for photos. (And pretending to give me raises, everytime I make a winning bow. I'm making like, a million doars an hour now. **wink wink**
The children have (unanimously) decided to donate 1/3 of our sales to the Ascension Fund for the next full calendar year.
The organization provides grants to teachers to do amazing things in our schools right here in Ascension Parish, where the children attend school. This is going to give them the opportunity to see a more direct impact from their donations than donating elsewhere might. It's a great place to start, in my opinion.
I know that just last year, my son's band room received one of the grants for some axing new technology. This is stuff the kids now use everyday.
We have contacted the Ascension Fund and are now ready to move forward. We will be promoting the organization as well in order to bring some attention their way. We are very excited to be able to be a part if out community in such a valuable way.
