Announcement    Metal clay pendants with a focus on natural stones is what I do. I love matching textures with the type of metal and stones to create one of a kind pendants that are unique.

You’ll also find bracelets and keychains that have nothing to do with stones but I think they’re fun which is why I make them.

Each item is lovingly made from my home and I thank you all for taking the time to visit my shop and perusing my selection.

A preview of what will be posted this weekend. It's not everything that I have ready to go but I am excited with what I've got so far #Holidays2016

About

Finding an Outlet

I've always been a creative person, from singing to writing to sewing to beading, I think I've done everything. Even really bad dancing when nobody was looking. I never saw myself as the type who would fit into a corporate type setting and while I love to learn, I knew that college was not going to work for me. So, I went the other direction and got a fast food job. Which is kind of like college only we didn't have classrooms.

I knew I wanted to do something that would stimulate my creative side. I was going to write a novel but I found I'd rather read them. I can't draw so that was out. Sewing is great but sharp objects and me don't quite get along. And while I've heard 'you're so good you should start selling your stuff' more times than I can count (my ego thanks those people), the things I was good at didn't really keep me focused for long.

Then, I found metal clay and it all just clicked. It was even better when I figured out how to include stones with the metal clay as I have always loved natural gemstones. I give my grandfather credit for that one because he was a hobby lapidary artist and when he passed on, I was given some of his pendants. It still amazes me the beauty that the Earth gives us.

So, this is what I do. I take a bit of metal powder, mix it with another powder, add water, form it, fire it in a kiln, pair it with a stone that in my head matches perfectly and hope the world loves it as much I do. Boring? Maybe. But it gives me the satisfaction of knowing that I am contributing to the world even in the smallest of ways. And who knows? Maybe what I do will become someone else's favorite possession.
