Etsy: New Marketplace after 20 Years as an Antiques Dealer

In 1996 I retired from the corporate world and created Annie's Song, a retail antiques and decorative and fine arts business. It was born of my mother's and grandmothers' love of beautiful old and hand made things, my fine art studies, my travels and visits to museums and historic homes, and help from other dealers and antiques experts throughout my life.

Annie's Song began with sales in my home by invitation only and soon led to my taking spaces in antique malls in Dallas. Soon I began doing antique shows in the area. The business has changed a lot over the years and I began to wonder about on line selling as a way to broaden my markets.

Etsy seemed to me to offer the right features as a new place for me to sell, so here I am--AnniesEclectricity by Annie's Song. I have just recently closed my bricks and mortar shop in order to concentrate on my Etsy Shop and you can learn more about me and my businesses on my little website Annie’s-Song.Com.

My shop reflects my eclectic tastes, born of a passion for travel, museums and historic homes and buildings, fine arts studies, and more than 20 years of buying and selling antiques and decorative arts.

I acquire my merchandise on my travels, at auction, from estates, and from individuals.

I look forward to working with you when you find antique and vintage pieces in my ETSY shop that you love as much as I do. Always feel free to contact me with any questions about an item, or even an offer on an item. I will do my best to respond within 24 hours, and usually it will be much quicker.

Returns and exchange details
Antique items are at least 100 years old. Vintage items are at least 20 years old. Both vintage and antique items probably will show wear, patina, and various imperfections from use and simply from age. Please keep this in mind as you shop. Also, be aware that the relative price of an item will reflect its condition.

I will always alert you to significant imperfections, and attempt to photograph the item so the condition is shown. I will also tell you if an item seems to have been repaired, refurbished or restored, and when I think the work was done. But do not hesitate to ask me any questions or request additional photos if you need more details before you buy.

I want you to be delighted with your purchase. So if there is a problem, please contact me within 14 days of receipt so we can determine a good resolution. Typically, a refund will be available if you are dissatisfied with your purchase and return it in the condition I sent it to you. Return shipping including appropriate packaging and insurance will normally be the buyer's responsibility.

If there is shipping damage, please contact me as quickly as possible. Take good photos of the condition of the packaging as well as the item damage, and if possible, keep the packaging. I will need this information when I file insurance claims. I may ask you to return the item to me. A full refund of your purchase and shipping will be available with your assistance. I have had only two damage claims so far in nearly 4 years, and never a return due to shipping damage, so hopefully this is an issue that will not arise in our transactions!
Cancellation with full refund accepted if I receive notice from you before I ship, which is often same day as order. Otherwise, I will refund only purchase price and any taxes you paid me, and only after I receive the item returned in same condition as shipped.
TIMING: I usually ship within one to two business days. But there are times when my schedule requires me to delay ship dates. I will always include the modified timing in my Shop Announcement and modify the Message to Buyers you receive when you purchase to highlight any possible delay. Also, large furniture or other items requiring crating may take longer to prepare for shipping. The buyer will be alerted and consulted about these items.

FREE SHIPPING: I offer Free Shipping whenever possible, but large, or heavy items vary tremendously in shipping cost based on distance, so I use ETSY's automatic shipping calculation for many items, so you may buy with certainty. Unless stated otherwise in the item description, I will not charge you additional shipping above what the system automatically adds to your invoice, even though the actual shipping cost I pay may be more. And I will promptly refund any substantial shipping over charges the system calculates.

SPECIAL SHIPMENTS: For furniture and very large or extremely fragile items, we will need to be in contact. If you wish to find out more about the shipping cost before purchasing, please contact me. Or you may purchase and I will contact you to discuss options and cost. Any amount automatically charged for shipping at purchase of these items is subject to additional charges or refunds of over-charges, depending on your location and your choice of available shipping options.

I am open to your arranging shipping and/or pick-up for any purchase from my Dallas location, or by arrangement from my Livingston location in East Texas, north of Houston. If you want to arrange to use your own shipper, I will provide information for scheduling and cooperation for pick-up. I will promptly refund any excess shipping charges already paid.

GIFT SHIPPING: I am happy to ship a gift to an alternate location. I will always include a note letting the recipient know the gift is from you, and what to do in the unlikely event that there is damage to the shipment. I'm also happy to enclose your brief message on a handwritten gift card, so please send that to me in a convo or purchase message.

COMBINED SHIPPING: I will automatically combine shipping of multiple items when possible and less expensive for you.

INTERNATIONAL SHIPPING: I will gladly ship worldwide whenever possible. Even where my item shows shipping only to the USA, I'll work with you to see if I can safely ship you the item and let you know the estimated cost.

Any import duties will be your responsibility. Any export declarations I sign will be accurate to my best knowledge and ability.

I will use USPS International Priority Mail in order to fully track and insure your purchase, unless you request another class of service. If you contact me and arrange to use USPS International First Class mail, I will give you as much information as I receive, and will let you know at the time what liability, if any, I can assume for
the timely delivery of the shipment.
