    About junkism

    Sales 685

    From baby clothes to junk

Junkism actually started out as a completely different shop. Back in 2008 I was at home with my newborn daughter and her two older brothers. I craved a creative outlet from my day-to-day routine and Apple Creek Designs was born. Apple Creek Designs featured bodysuits with fun designs. I enjoyed creating and dressing my daughter in my creations. However, when I went back to work full-time a few years later, it became too much to balance everything and I closed my Etsy shop. Once I was settled into my new job, I started thinking about Etsy again. I love the Etsy community and the people that found my little shop and enjoyed the things I made. However, this time I changed my focus on another love of mine, junk. I reopened my shop under the name of Junkism and as it turned out I already had a pretty good inventory to get started with. I love selling vintage on Etsy. It feeds my need to hoard, I mean collect, things I love. I also love finding homes for the things that don’t fit my décor or I don’t have room for.

I grew up in a house full of “old stuff” so it’s no surprise that I love to decorate my own home in vintage finds. There is a fine line between collector and hoarder. Junkism has been my way to avoid crossing that line.
