~*~ A note on Handmade Clothing~*~

Each one of my unique batik creations starts off as a blank slate. I take much care in transforming these lonely white garments into wearable pieces of art. Each piece is created by hand and lots of love, positive intentions and hard work go into each and every one of our batiks.
The medium of batik is absolutely fascinating, as no two pieces will ever be the same! The medium of batik is the art of wax and dye manipulation. That being said hot wax is quite difficult to tame, so to speak. On occasion the accidental wax drip or drop does occur in places that I do not intend it to be and becomes part of the magic and life of the piece itself. Handmade can never be perfect the way a machine can create exact consistency and I hope you accept and love this about your new batik!
Just as the technique of wax application is distinct in itself, the art of dying follows the same effect. The conclusion is that there is no way to create the same ‘exact color’ or dye pattern ever! This is what is truly remarkable about this art form. The dye manipulation works the same way as the waxing technique, as I am never quite completely sure what the outcome will be. In terms of dye saturation, natural fibers pick up dye the way ‘they’ want to and we have to be open to the outcomes. Sometimes dye particles do not fully dissolve leaving tiny dots of color along the garment. To us, this just adds more character to the fabric and its uniqueness. Although I do try very hard to replicate the same colors for custom requests, I do ask that you are open to the outcome of your piece.
So please remember that you are purchasing something that a lot of pure love went into and that these tiny inconsistencies you might come across in my work, that may look like a mistake, is just another reminder of how pure and handmade your creation truly is <3
Thank-you for supporting handmade, it is without a doubt YOU who is keeping this thing going and I are forever grateful for that support!
