Spreading whimsy and raising funds for the Phelan-McDermid Syndrome Foundation (22q13.org) in honor of my three year old son.

Hello! I'm Courtney and I used to make jewelry. After closing my shop in 2012, I finished my Masters degree and began a fulfilling career as a child and family therapist. I also had my first child, a beautiful little boy who was born with a rare genetic condition called Phelan-McDermid Syndrome, or 22q13 deletion syndrome.

Being the mother of a child with special needs has been an adventure, with some amazing highs and some not-so-great lows. My son has a lot to work through, and hopefully overcome, and it's my most important job to help him thrive as much as he can. In the rare disease community, funding for research and outreach is always a challenge. Both of these are critical for families like mine to help our loved ones achieve their best possible quality of life. My hope is to use my love for creating fun and beautiful things to help the Phelan-McDermid Syndrome Foundation achieve their goals, which you can see here:
