I can't believe how fast this arrived--thank you! It is as beautiful in person as I expected and it fits perfectly on a door. I can't wait to use it!

About

Family Creativity Evolves

AppliedSmARTS was born from the creative celebrations and games that our family has experienced over the decades that we want to share with the world as much as possible. When we had very little money, we still had a lot of creativity, and Barbara made us kids fabric advent calendars. She tied small treats to them, and all winter season long (in bitter cold South Dakota!), we had a gift to unwrap each day. It is a cherished memory that we hold very dear, and even at age (mrph mrph)--as grown adults--she fills our advent calendars with little treats and the child comes out in each of us.

I try to explain this story to my own children (now also grown!), but it is impossible to convey the heartfelt appreciation a creative mother inspires in a child. Suffice it to say, I have created other games throughout the years--Easter egg hunts based on pop-culture references and mythology a few years back is one I can recall. I now see our daughter loving the DIY revolution and she loves resin, which is her own take on creativity.

Creativity is simply one of the fundamentals of human life, and how can we not participate in the ETSY revolution with our offerings? We hope you will see the love and positivity we put into our products. We try to put out items that will make a difference and will cause all sorts of fun at celebration points!

Shipping
Our policy is to ship products within 3 business days of purchase, except on special/custom orders, which are handled on a case-by-case basis. All shipments made in our ETSY shop are made with a shipment confirmation, which adds a little bit to the cost of shipping, but takes away such a great burden of uncertainty in the shipping process for all parties concerned that it is worth it!

If you would like a rush or an international shipment, we are more than happy to provide it, if you will simply let us know and if we have the ability to meet your need. You can start an ETSY conversation with us and we will create a special transaction that includes your extra shipping cost--tailored to be the lowest cost possible for your shipping situation. Once we have received payment confirmation, we will ship the product to you as per your requirement.

Please note that buyers are responsible for any and all duties and customs charges that may be incurred.
Refunds and Exchanges
Items can be returned if they are received damaged within 30 days of purchase, and sometimes at our discretion for other reasons. Please return the item (buyer pays return shipping cost) with a brief note explaining the reason for the return and whether you would like a replacement or a refund. If you would like a replacement, and a replacement is available, we will send a new one. If a refund is preferred (or no replacement is available, as for one-of-a-kind items), we will refund the purchase price.

Who are your artists?

Please see our "About" Page for short bios on our artists! Dominique is the administrator of the ETSY site, and the other contributing artists and authors are Chuck and Barbara.

What are your stories?

Marie: Marie has been a special education teacher in the public schools for about 20 years, and has been quilting much longer than that! Before she was a teacher, she raised three children and put herself through college, all while facing extreme poverty. She really inspired her children and changed her life through many creative means, including the arts and her quilting and fabric crafting. When her kids were very young, one Christmas she made fabric advent calenders, and attached small gifts--one for each day up to December 24. They were such a big hit that her children--now in their 30s and 40s--still wait excitedly for their advent calenders each December 1! Marie will be retiring from the public school system this year, so while she will be busy for a few more months--later this year she will devote her energy to making inspired fabric arts and quilts-to-order for lucky clients.

Dominique: Dominique is a poet and an artist who has retired from a career as a software engineer. She also teaches meditation, and much of her writing and art is inspired from her meditation time. She offers inspirational cards and books as well as crafts made from recycled materials in the spirit of manifesting the maximum peace, love and sustainability as possible.

Chuck: Chuck has been a writer all his life and is currently working on several comic scripts and finishing up his first novel, Savage Investigations. He is also the president of 7000 BC, a not-for-profit collective of comic creators from New Mexico.

Will you do custom orders?

We will definitely consider custom orders, yes. There are many factors to consider. Timeline, artist availability, competing priorities. The best thing to do is to contact us and we would love to do our best to provide you with what you would like. (If we cannot provide it, perhaps we know another ETSY artist who has the bandwidth to meet your needs.)
