About

The Birth of Apsara Boutique.

I am an artist, born in Vancouver, I grew up in the Fraser Valley but my husband and I are raising our young son in Vancouver B.C. Canada.

I am a painter, seamstress and designer.
I began making my leather bracelets in September of 2009 when I watched the leaves fall from the trees and thought I would love to have something to wear that helped me express my love for nature and my love for fall.

I made my first bracelet, wore it every day and I received many comments on it, shortly after that I discovered Etsy and voila, Apsara Boutique was born!

As an expression of my love of fashion and design I enjoy taking old garments, fabric new and used, buttons, grommets, leather and making something that has never been seen before.
I take my cues from the world around me, most notably the natural world.
Its complex organic shapes and fractal nature inspire me a great deal.
A big part of my philosophy as a human and an artist is to create things that are as biodegradable and sustainable as possible and it is my mission to leave a minimal carbon footprint.
There is so much in the world that can be re used and up cycled into other things and I enjoy the challenge of taking an old garment and creating something entirely new from it.

I hope that you enjoy what you see and if you don't see what you are looking for please ask, I am happy to help create something unique just for you.

Thank you,
Apsara Boutique

I marvel in the beauty of the natural world.
Its complex fractilian forms delight me and I find myself articulating this language through my art, in various forms.

Through painting, drawing, sewing and performance art.
My philosophy as an artist is to create while preserving a desire to reduce and reuse as much as I possibley can to diminish the amount of waste that is put into the environment on a daily basis.

Instead of purchasing new materials I challenge myself to reuse clothing, fabric and leather to express my inner desires while keeping true to my natural inclinations of preservation.

This Earth is a gift and I have received many blessings in my life.
This is my way of giving back and saying thank you.
