About

A love for working with leather.

My passion and love for leatherwork started years ago when I was in the Boy Scouts of all places. Here I am years later and I find myself still getting lost in crafting new things. I like to say that I take a simple approach to everything I do, I try not to over think it. A lot of the leatherwork I do is out of need or necessity i.e. I bought a knife and didn’t like the sheath it came with so I decided to create my own. I took the same approach with my dog collars and leashes. I was tired of the cheaply made product you find in the local pet stores, they were not sewn together for strength, they were riveted or pressed together and eventually they would break. Besides, every dog in town had the same style collar without any personality. I first made collars for my three dogs and than began selling them locally to friends and neighbors who finally convinced me to sell them online which is how this shop came to be. I hope you can appreciate the design and quality of my product as much as I do, and I thank you very much for taking the time to visit us here at Arcadian Craftsman!

I am a US Army Veteran who grew up with an appreciation of the outdoors and working with my hands. I enjoy creating, reforming and repurposing leather, metal and wood that others may initially discard as junk. I have always had a fascination with old knives and hatchets and their usefulness in aspects of life such as work, camping, hunting or even collecting. Usually when you buy an old knife or hatchet it does not come complete with a sheath or scabbard. I have decided to provide a place to purchase such items either made by general size, as a complete package or even custom order. My designs are more of a functional design, which I hope you will enjoy. All leatherwork is hand crafted by myself and my knives; hatchets and axes are antique blades that I take the time to recondition and restore to working condition. My dog collars are custom made to fit your dog. Each collar is hand stamped with your dogs name and dyed to your liking.
