Announcement   Welcome to Arcane Jayne, home of forgotten treasures, curious goods, keys, verdigris, pawnshop pretties, costume finds, bygone bling, workingman's wares & more.

Everything here has a past, some of it known, some of it forever a mystery. But all are one-of-a-kind pieces that were eager for a makeover and a chance to serve and please another generation. Arcane Jayne is a shop for those who can hear the voices of times past and who appreciate the character of things from a time when beauty was just as important as utility.

About

Every Piece Tells A Story...And I Give It A Voice

Americans live in a disposable society. Everything today seems to be mass-produced, usually made of plastic and intended to be thrown away. It wasn't always that way. There was a time when craftsmanship was valued, and even the most utilitarian items were deliberately made esthetically pleasing. Objects were created with pride and well cared-for by their owners. It has always amazed me, visiting flea markets and estate sales, how many gorgeous old things - broken watches, beads, postcards and paper items - end up thrown away, because they're no longer "current" or "useful." If an object has survived 50, 100 or more years, it deserves to have a new life and a home with someone who appreciates and feels that monetary worth is not the most important factor in selecting or valuing something.

I have always made my own jewelry and accessories for myself or as gifts for friends - mostly because I could never find what I wanted among commercially-sold goods - and decided that I would offer my creations to others as well. I enjoy making something out of unexpected objects and especially like creating custom pieces. Each sale or shop view gives me confidence that the respect for history is still a value among some. In an age where the small business is becoming extinct, I am also proud to offer truly "Made In America" products that came from my little workshop in my 200 year old home, and not from a corporate-owned factory. Every piece is made solely by me, so by purchasing from my shop, you are purchasing from a craftswoman who puts a little bit of herself into everything she makes.

From the bottom of my heart, I truly appreciate and am grateful for your interest and business.

Flea market picking and jewelry making keep me happy and (relatively) sane. It is my pleasure to create accessories that give vintage items new life and become signature pieces for people who desire unique, OAK adornments. Ask about custom items!

Thank you for visiting Arcane Jayne. Your time is valuable and none of us have enough, so I appreciate that you spent yours on considering my work.

Please review my policies below. If you need more clarification on anything, please contact me http://www.etsy.com/convo_new.php?to_username=arcanejayne

All of my pieces are made in a smoke-free, but cat-friendly home. The feline in question is a sleekly elegant black lady named Charlotte, and she contributes to the aura that surrounds my creative process. As I use vintage and reclaimed materials that had a life and a purpose before they met me, each piece will bear "beauty marks" that I will not destroy through over-zelous cleaning. These are in no way "defects" - think of them as wrinkles on a well-lived face. All items are boxed with care and a card, but do let me know if your order is a gift and I will include some special extras at no additional charge.

Payment
I accept Paypal only, and payment should be made immediately unless alternative arrangements are made. If payment is not received within the specified time frame, Arcane Jayne reserves the right to re-list the item(s) for sale.

I will hold items on reserve for up to 5 days. If not purchased at the end of the 5 days (unless prior arrangements are made), the item will be relisted.
Shipping
Jayne prefers to ship via USPS Priority Mail (with delivery confirmation). Packages will be shipped within 3 days after your payment is received. Packages shipped within the USA should arrive within 3 to 7 working days after the shipping date (depending on your proximity to the East Coast United States). Timing is TBD for International Buyers, depending on your location.

Standard mailing cost in the USA is $3.50; $4.50 for Canada. Shipping costs for multiple items mailed at the same time will be discounted (depending on the weight of the final package).

International rates are a flat $6.00 for International Priority Mail.
Refunds and Exchanges
Anything purchased from me comes with 110% satisfaction guaranteed. If you're not happy, Jayne's not happy...so, if you are not completely satisfied with your purchase, you may return the piece in its original condition within 7 days of receipt for a full refund (less shipping). Pack your item carefully (too much fluff is better than too little!) and please consider adding insurance to your return, as I cannot refund items that were damaged shipping.

If there's an issue with your purchase, convo me prior to leaving negative or neutral feedback so I can work with you to correct it. If you have any questions or comments prior to purchasing, likewise convo me. I love questions and want to make sure that what you see and expect exceeds your expectations.
Additional policies and FAQs
I am open to working with you to create the piece of your dreams! Prior to starting work, I will ask you A LOT of questions and will do my best to work within your budget. As a former graphic artist, I envision ideas best when given detailed descriptions and, if possible, pictures of what you favor and don't favor. There is no such thing as too much information when it comes to custom work!

Upon finishing the piece, I will send you pictures to ensure your happiness. Due to the nature of custom orders, there will be a 20% restocking fee on custom item returns.

Custom work will be completed within 1-8 weeks, depending on the complexity of the piece & availability of supplies. Due to the nature of vintage and reclaimed materials and the availability of them, I may have what I need or hand...or may have to embark on a search. I'm willing and able to search far and wide for exactly what you want, as long as you're patient while I do it. I will let you know the time frame for your creation upon ordering.

Due to the custom nature of my work, I cannot offer wholesale pieces. However, I will consider small commissions for boutiques or other shops.
