My jewellery, the Archerade way

To sum up: I am a goldsmith, and have been for the past 5ish years. That doesn't include the 3 years I spent studying the craft at George Brown College. Take my word for it - jewellery school is a lot more work and stress than you think! Don't worry though, it's well worth it.

Currently, all the jewellery magic happens in my lovely collaborative studio, in the west end of Toronto. This magic starts from the first whispers of inspiration, and doesn't rest until the piece is finished. The majority of my pieces are carved in wax, and then cast into either sterling silver or gold, and now sometimes bronze. I take great care to use recycled materials whenever possible, and I use environmentally friendly materials and practices in my studio.

Being a designer and a goldsmith (and sole employee!) is very hands-on work. From the initial sketch, to the carving, casting, and polishing, I am pretty much the only person who touches the pieces. This is a one-woman show here, you guys!

I really do love my work, to an almost obsessive-but-hopefully-still-healthy degree. I hope to pass this love and passion along to you, perfectly captured in pieces that you will treasure for a lifetime.

Welcome to Archerade!

I'm Sasha, and thanks so so much for stopping by.

I am a die-hard goldsmith, and I have all the associated cuts/bruises/ruined manicures to prove it. I am also a fervent designer, and I go through sketchbooks the way I go through chocolate bars (that is to say, enthusiastically and full-tilt).

This is a solo operation here, so all of the work you see - from first rough sketch to final polishing shine - is done pretty much entirely by me. I do require a helping hand every once in awhile, however, mostly when it comes to the cutting and the setting of stones.

I do my best to maintain a socially and environmentally responsible studio space, and I always use recycled metal in my work. I also love supporting local Toronto businesses, as well as makers and artisans worldwide:)

If you see something in the shop that you like, but you would prefer it slightly different (gold instead of sterling, or with diamonds instead of rubies, etc...) please just let me know and we can figure something out together.

It really comes down to this: I love making jewellery, but I want you to love wearing it even more. That's just the way it works around here.

ps - the nature of handmade jewellery ensures that every piece is slightly unique, with subtle and lovely variations, because I am not a machine churning out hundreds of identical pieces! So please don't be alarmed if your Archerade piece is not *exactly* as the item photographed in the listing:)

Returns and exchange details
As my jewellery is made-to-order, unfortunately I cannot offer refunds or exchanges on goods purchased. In the rare instance that a refund is issued, I reserve the right to charge a 15% re-stocking fee.

Return shipping is to be covered by the buyer, and it is highly recommended that the package have a tracking number, as I cannot be responsible for items lost in transit.

If you are unsure of style or sizing or anything else, just let me know. I try to provide enough pictures and information, but there are always more where those came from:)

If the item has been damaged in transit, please let me know right away, so we can resolve the issue quickly.

If the item has defective workmanship (I shudder at the thought!), again, please let me know and I will do my very best to take care of it for you.

Overall, a good rule of thumb is to just let me know:)
I gladly accept payments through PayPal and Etsy direct checkout.

Please make payments within 3 days, or I will assume that you wish to cancel the order. If there are extenuating circumstances, just let me know and I'm sure we can work something out.

Canadian customers, you WILL be charged the appropriate provincial tax at checkout.

International customers, you may be assessed the customs and duties of your lovely countries upon receipt of your package, this one is out of my hands!
Most pieces are made-to-order, and may require up to 1 or 2 weeks (after payment) of goldsmithing before shipping. I will try to be as speedy as possible, but I will also do my best to keep you up to date with the process. If I have a finished piece on hand, it will ship within 3 days of payment.

All items are shipped via Canada Post from my studio/homebase in Toronto, Canada. No matter the cost of your piece, I will always fully insure your purchase. Better safe than sorry, especially when it comes to jewellery!

Under $100 - items ship via regular mail (no tracking or insurance, delivery within 2-4 business days depending on location) OR upgrade to Xpresspost

Over $100 - items ship via Xpresspost with a tracking number and insurance (delivery between 1-4 business days, depending on your location)

Under $100 - items ship via light packet (no tracking or insurance, delivery within 5-8 business days depending on location) OR upgrade to Tracked Packet

Over $100 - items ship via Tracked Packet with a tracking number and insurance (delivery within 4-7 business days depending on your location)

Items ship via Small Packet with insurance but NO tracking, delivery within 6 to 10 business days depending on location

In all cases, delivery could be delayed for a variety of reasons beyond my control: weather, customs, etc... I fervently wish I could teleport everything to your front door, but until that technological breakthrough comes our way, I'm afraid we are resigned to waiting. I always cross my fingers for quick deliveries though, and I'm fairly confident that makes a significant difference!

And here's a bonus for the locals: if you reside close to/within Toronto (specifically the west side), you are more than welcome to come pick up your piece in person, tour my collaborative studio space, meet me (!), AND save on shipping costs. Let me know, and we can schedule this. Use the coupon code FREESHIPPING at checkout, and we can arrange a pickup time.

If you want to look into other shipping options (cheaper, faster, etc...), this is also entirely possible. Get in touch and we can do it together. Teamwork!
