Vintage Love

Hello from one vintage obsessed gal to another! I'm proud to offer a hand picked selection of vintage treasures. From classic, feminine pieces to the more daring designer finds, each item is selected with an eye for historical relevance and modern wearability.

A thirty year love affair with vintage clothing has led me to a full time life of finding new homes for vintage beauties, from dresses to jewelry and everything in between.

As the owner and gal-of-all-work, I'm responsible for sourcing, cleaning, sometimes mending, photographing and shipping all of the items you see in the shop. I'm also the customer service department, so feel free to send me a note if you have any questions, need help finding the perfect piece or just want to say hello.

Hello and welcome! I am proud to feature select vintage clothing and accessories from across the Northeast US. Each item is carefully chosen for both aesthetics and wearability.

EACH AND EVERY ITEM HAS BEEN HAND WASHED OR DRY CLEANED and is ready to wear. Your item will be ready to wear right out of the box, no extra cleaning necessary!

We take great pride in our shop and guarantee that all items are 100% authentic vintage. Each piece is thoroughly researched and we are very fortunate to have a best friend who is a costume maker and fashion historian. If you have any questions regarding the provenance of an item, please feel free to ask!

Items shipped within the US may be returned within 3 days of receipt for a store credit or exchange only.

Return shipping charges are the responsibility of the buyer. If you wish to return an item, please contact me for approval before shipping it. All items returned must including tracking.

Items shipped to the EU may be returned within 14 days of receipt for a store credit or exchange. Return shipping charges are the responsibility of the buyer. If you wish to return an item, please contact me for approval before shipping it. All items returned must including tracking.

Please remember that vintage items have been pre-owned. Archetype Vintage only sell items in good wearable condition. Once you have received the item you have 3 days to contact us regarding any disputes. After that it is your responsibility and we cannot be liable for any further wear.

Any item refused or ultimately returned to me for failure to pay taxes or pick up will incur a 25% restocking fee. Please be aware of your country's tax rates before placing your order.

QUESTIONS OR CONCERNS ABOUT YOUR ORDER?

Archetype Vintage is very proud of our 100% positive feedback status, so if, for any reason, you are unhappy with your purchase, or with the postal system, please contact me. All messages are answered the same day (and usually within a matter of hours) unless, of course, I am sleeping. I take great pride in my customers having a positive experience and enjoying their purchases. I will do my utmost to make your shopping experience here a positive one, so if something is amiss, I will respond quickly to make it right.
Payment
PAYMENT
Payment can be made through Etsy via DIRECT CHECKOUT using all major credit cards or with an ETSY GIFT CARD. We also accept PAYPAL.

LAYAWAY
Items over $100 are available for layaway. If an item as just been listed, it may be put on layaway 2 hours after listing. I simply ask for a 20% nonrefundable deposit to hold the item and the deposit must be paid within 2 hours or the item will be released. The remaining balance is to be paid within 2 months and the dollar amount and frequency of payments is up to you. Please contact me if you'd like more information.
Shipping
Orders are shipped the next business day after payment is received.

Items are shipped US Postal Service Priority Mail or first class with tracking. To keep shipping costs to a minimum, heavier items such as coats may ship parcel post. You can usually expect your packages with 3 - 7 business days.

If you would like to add insurance to your item, please inform me of this prior to payment and I will include it in the purchase price. Archetype Vintage strongly recommends purchasing insurance.

INTERNATIONAL BUYERS
Items are usually shipped USPS First Class. This does not include tracking or insurance. If you would like either tracking and/or insurance, USPS Priority Mail offers both, but at a greater fee. Please contact me prior to purchasing if you would like to upgrade to International Priority and I can give you a quote and adjust the shipping cost.

A CARING REMINDER THAT ALL CUSTOMS, FEES AND IMPORT OR VAT TAXES ASSOCIATED WITH INTERNATIONAL SHIPPING ARE THE RESPONSIBILITY OF THE BUYER. I CANNOT ALTER THE PURCHASE PRICE ON A CUSTOMS FORM OR MARK ANYTHING OTHER THAN MERCHANDISE.

GARMENT CARE

Each and every item is carefully hand washed or dry cleaned before it is listed. All leather items such as shoes and bags have been cleaned with a good quality leather cleaner. I take care to inspect each item and repair any loose buttons, hems or seams. Items with any noticeable flaws will be noted in the listing.

SIZING

All measurements are carefully listed in the item description. There can be great differences between sizing dependent upon era, manufacturer and country. I do my best to approximate all sizes to ensure a proper fit. If you have any questions about fit, please refer to the measurements or contact me. I will gladly send you more photos and/or measurements.

Please always refer to the actual measurements of the garment listed. A good idea would be to flat measure a dress you already own to get an idea of what would fit you well. We use a dressmakers tape and measure in inches.

BUST - the fullest part of your chest while wearing a bra
WAIST - the smallest part of your natural waist
HIP - the fullest part of your hips
LENGTH - From the top of the shoulder to the end of the garment at the bottom
SLEEVE - from the shoulder seam to the end of the sleeve

PANT INSEAM - from the inside of the leg where the crotch begins and down the leg to the end of the pant (basically the inside measurement of one leg)
PANT RISE - from the inside of the crotch and up the zipper to where the pant buttons

SHOE INSOLE - the length of the inside of the shoe from the tip of the toe to the end of the heel
BALL - the inside width at the widest part of the shoe
HEEL - height of the heel from the bottom to where it meets the sole of the shoe

Are your items vintage or can I custom order a size?

Everything sold in the shop is vintage and there's only one available. All measurements are given to ensure accurate sizing and what you see is exactly what you get.

Can I reserve an item?

Yes, items that have been in the shop for over 24 hours and are priced over $100 may be placed on hold for 24 hours without a deposit. Please contact me if you'd like to put something on hold.

Do you offer layaway?

Yes! If you'd like to put something on layaway, I simply ask for a 20% nonrefundable deposit to hold the item. The remaining balance is to be paid within 2 months and the dollar amount and frequency of payments is up to you. Please contact me if you'd like more information.

Do you offer express / overnight shipping?

Yes, all items ship the next business day but if you need expedited shipping, please contact the shop for a quote.

How fast can I expect my order?

Most US domestic orders (excluding heavier items like winter coats) are shipped USPS Priority Mail and should arrive 2 to 3 business days. They will include tracking. International orders ship First Class and can take anywhere from 2 to 3 weeks depending upon the destination and customs processing.
