I purchased the wreath and the mail service lost the expedition. Fabiola was very kind when I contacted her to let her know and she immediately sent another garland by adding some beautiful gifts. The Garland is the poetics and will embellish with the rest my children's room (hope my english isn't so bad) Thank you

About

the two-dimensional world of archiviogotico

Archiviogotico started by chance and probably in a very unromantic manner. I may have been grumbling at the traffic lights or gazing absent-mindedly at my computer monitor at work. Thinking “What am I doing here?” or “Could I possibly do something else?”

There is a bit of background though.
I’ve always liked paper. When I was small, my father worked in a printing factory and brought home lots of paper. My sister and I liked drawing because it was fun and cheap. Once Dad brought an encyclopaedia home. A huge faux-leather bounded book with something in French printed in gold on the front. The book was empty. Hundreds and hundreds of empty pages. We never wrote on it. Too marvellous and too precious. That also reminds me of the catalogue of hot stamping foils, another of my dad’s finds from work. A collection of multi-colour, silver, gold, copper and brass stamping foil samples. We never used those either but just looked at them because they were colour-coded and so cool.

I still draw and my drawings are two-dimensional (best drawings are of the rainproof man and of The pressure relief valve). I like writing short stories and they’re two-dimensional too. So two-dimensional is my element and archiviogotico has basically got two dimensions.

The third dimension is themes. I got the theme obsession when I was a DJ in a local indie radio. I did theme-based radio programmes with songs all about a single subject, it could be tea and toast or a book by E.M. Forster.

The themes give my creations an identity and a place to feel at home in. Finding a theme is one of the parts that I like best. I think about a theme and start searching through my box of ephemera and often high resolution, copyright-free image databases for what suits the theme best.

I have no training in computer graphics (with the exception of what I have acquired at work), printing or book-binding. So there is a lot of improvisation. It’s fun because you often have to find the longer way to reach a certain result. But it is not always an asset.

To tell the truth, I have no specific training in anything…

Ambitions?
1. Using only recycled material for archiviogotico.
2. Growing my own fruit and veg and learning how to cook properly so my children will no longer find my meals funny.
3. Walking more and driving less.
4. Learning how to use an electric screwdriver and to mend my broken plugs.
5. Being less messy and having a wonderfully organised studio so that I don’t have to rummage through several boxes before I find what I’m looking for.
6. I wouldn’t mind combing my hair every now and again.

archivioGotico is VINTAGE INSPIRED paper garlands and postcards, designed by me choosing and scanning images I am constantly searching for.

Postcards are professionally printed on 325g textured card and are standard postcard size, 10x15 cm (5.91x3.94”).
Card is manufactured in a local, family run workshop with artisan techniques.
Garlands and notebooks are entirely printed, cut and assembled by me.

Archiviogotico is - unfortunately - not my first job so I'm not particularly fast when it comes to preparing orders. I am working on improving my leadtime (is that how you say it?) but I am still far from perfect!

Accepted payment methods

Payment
Payment by paypal upon placing order.
Shipping
Items are shipped neatly packaged in a bubble mailer by priority mail.
Priority mail is the cheapest mailing option but offers no tracking number.
If you prefer registered mail, which can be tracked, please let me know and I will alter the shipping charges accordingly!
After placing your order, I will ship within ten days. I am a rather slow worker. If you have special 'time-related' requirements, please send me a convo!
International shipping time is not easy to establish. Shipping from Italy to Europe generally takes around a week or 10 days. Shipping overseas may take much longer!
Please note that buyers are responsible for any and all duties and customs charges that may be incurred.
I’m afraid that I cannot be held responsible for items damaged during transit or for items that have been lost but please read on....
Refunds and Exchanges
I am willing to discuss and settle any issue concerning items you do not appreciate.
Returns: the cost of returning me items you do not appreciate would be much higher than the cost of the item itself! As explained above, please send me a convo and I will see what I can do!
Before posting negative feedback, please contact me!
Additional policies and FAQs
Are these items vintage? No, THEY ARE DIGITAL REPRODUCTIONS!!!!
Can you handle wholesale orders? No, not yet. If you have a special requirement, send me a convo and I'll see if it can be done!
Do you smoke? Yes, I unfortunately do. I don't smoke while I'm making or packaging items but I do smoke before, after and in between (not inside my house but on the landing). I do wash my hands after smoking but if you're particularly sensitive, please ask me to be more careful! Maybe one day, I will stop (hopefully).
