The Head Tinker Faerie

Elfwood Treasures probably started on the day I was born. No really... I have been making things for as long as I can remember. I'm originally from Germany and moved to Colorado about 10 years ago.
My mother taught me to knit when I was just 9 years old

(psssssst....... that's 24 years ago, but don't tell anyone!)

The first thing I ever knitted was Red Fraggle from Fraggle Rock. Forget dish cloths and pot holders. I made a 20" tall doll as my first project!
Next I was taught to crochet and helped my mom to make countless doilies for around the house. And then we moved on to cross stitch and sewing. My mom had this crazy idea of making kleenex box covers that looked like little couches. They were such a big hit that I had to start helping her with the sewing. Child-labour at it's finest! I believe that I made somewhere around 1000 kleenex box couches at the tender age of 13. But at least that kept me out of trouble, as I was way too busy sewing and had no time to do stupid things. I plan on doing the same with my daughter.... hehe

I was also encouraged to draw and found myself being completely obsessed with Disney characters and then later on with Anime. I was taught to cook and bake like Julia Child. The perfect little house wife!

All these different hobbies stuck with me and today I am proud to say that I can pretty much make anything! I am a photographer in real life, specializing in Maternity, Birth & Newborn Photography.
I still knit, crochet, sew, work with clay, up-cycle clothing, needle felt, wet felt, costume design & cosplay, woodworking, up-cycle furniture food art & bento boxes,.... I probably forgot to mention 20 more hobbies.

I have times when I craft more and times when I do not get to create as much. Photography is definitely my first love and during my busy season I just don't get to create as much as I would love to. Things are ever changing in my Etsy shop, depending on my mood. Some days you may find a lot of crochet toys, the next day a bunch of beautiful crystal faerie necklaces. And the day after that I may add amazing patchwork dresses.

Please come and be my facebook friend, follow Elfwood Treasures for coupon codes or follow Hazel for all of my faerie adventues. And if you love fantasy, cosplay and faeries in general, make sure to check out my photography facebook page! <3 <3 <3
