Frequently asked questions
Custom and personalized orders

Love the design, hate the color? Need a different length? Beads too large or too small for an outfit? Want the design tweaked? No problem! I have access to a wide range of components and supplies and so I'm more than happy to customize an order when possible. Send me a message with your request and we can discuss the details. If I have the components in house, I can swap pieces out and charge the difference if there is any. If you are requesting something that I don't normally stock, there may be an additional fee for me to special order components.

Gift wrapping and packaging

All pearls are shipped in velvet or flocked boxes to ensure their safety. Necklaces, bracelets, earrings and rings will ship in a gift box.

Care instructions

Sterling silver will tarnish over time and require polishing. I highly recommend the Sunshine polishing cloth which I sell.

Pearls are an organic gem and require special handling and care. Pearls are prone to chipping if not handled delicately. NEVER tie them into a knot. Nacre, while shiny and smooth to the touch, is actually kind of gritty and so pearls can and will scratch or chip their neighbors. Always handle pearls with clean hands, free of fragrances, lotions, makeup or hair products. After use, run the strand through a *SOFT* cloth that won't scratch or scuff your pearls. Real pearls should separated by knots and stored in a velvet box or silk pouch to keep them safe.

Crystal is a glass matrix so treat it the same as glass.

Pearl stringing service

Do you have a pearl necklace that broke or needs a new clasp? Is the string dingy and fraying? Can you slide the pearls back and forth easily between knots? If you answered yes to any of those questions, contact me about having your necklace restrung. I charge a fraction of the price of the large corporations for the same professional quality. Pearls are beautiful and meant to be worn, not banished to a dark corner of your jewelry box! :)

What if something I bought breaks?

I stand by the quality of my work and I will repair, for free, any item I sold that broke from normal wear and tear for up to a year from the date of purchase if you pay for the shipping. There may be a cost to replace components.

Do your products have lead?

I refuse to sacrifice safety for the sake of quality and vice versa. There are only a few pieces I offer which I can't get a guarantee on whether my supplier has the old or the new Swarovski formulation. Unless the description says "not intended to be worn by children under 12" in the item details, to the best of my knowledge, the crystal is lead-free.

I make it a point not to work with base metals because of lead, nickel and cadmium concerns.

If I have to do any soldering, the solder I use is free of lead and cadmium.

What suicide prevention and anti-bullying organizations do you support?

Currently I'm supporting both the National Suicide Prevention Lifeline and The Trevor Project. As my business grows, I'll be adding other 501c3 organizations and community projects. If you have any questions, please ask!
