About

Je suis un cactus...

I've never been happy with my work, or at least come to a point where I felt like it is really good enough to present to the world. I joined Etsy in 2007 and as so eager to start selling my work I took the quickest photo I could and listed things before I even had time to think about what it was I wanted to sell.

I was lucky to have sales early on, considering the state of my listings, but the competition wasn't as fierce then and the odds were probably in my favour a little.

I had a lot of confidence issues, and after so many attempts and getting my work out there, I felt like I wasn't going anywhere. Like it wasn't going to be worth my time to invest in my self, and my skill as a viable business.

What I didn't realise at the time, was that these things take time. That success wasn't going to come overnight, and I also probably wasn't going to notice it when it was here. I was also pretty damn young then and comparing myself to people who had been creating for much longer than me. I guess I am still pretty young, but it is amazing how a few years can give you a clearer sense of perspective.

I wouldn't say that I am successful now either. I am writing this before I have even listed my new drawings or shared them with anyone. But this time I took my time. I thought about how I wanted the finished product to look and feel. I've worked on everything else first, before I even thought about listing an item.

I've been so unbelievably lucky to attend some amazing Etsy run conferences. Hello Etsy in Berlin in 2011, Etsy Success Symposium in Brooklyn in 2012, and I was the Production Coordinator for Etsy Success Sydney in 2012, which as you can imagine completely blew my mind. I thought that after all this is was probably time to give it another shot, see what I have learnt and stop being afraid of failure, because the Etsy community is so amazingly strong and supportive, I don't really think there is such a thing as failure here.

It is good to be back.

Shop policies

renee anne is a one person business, which is run from my home in Sydney, Australia. Due to my strong values surrounding mass production, waste, and fear of having too many things in my life, I print all my prints on demand, and try not to keep a large inventory of my work. As a result it might mean that things may take a little longer to get to you, and I trust that you understand and can appreciate my approach.

Additional to this, as I am only a one person business, from time to time things might happen along the way that means things don't run as smoothly as I would like. I try my best, but I also trust that you understand should something unfortunate was to happen along the way. It is never deliberate or intentional and I will do my best to make it up to you.

Accepted payment methods

  • Accepts Etsy gift cards
Payment
I accept PayPal payments to the email address reneeanne [!at] gmail.com. Using PayPal allows you to pay using your own currency, from your own bank account or with credit card, pretty nifty.

Payments should be made within three (3) days of purchase. Items will be shipped once payment has been received. I will allow payment plans (i.e. Layby) if requested, however item will not be shipped until payment is made in full.

If you payment is not received by the specified time, you will be contacted through Etsy convos to remind you of your purchase. If you do not respond within three (3) days I will have to cancel your item and re-list it.
Shipping
// Shipping Methods
I ship both domestic (Australia) and internationally. Prices will be itemised in each listing. Combined shipping discounts will also be itemised in each listing where available.

Orders are shipped using Australia post. Original artworks will be sent registered post domestically. All items will be packaged in a way to ensure complete protection during shipping.

Items will be sent once payment has received, typically on the next business day. Domestic orders generally take 1 - 5 days, and International usually take between 5-10 days.

Delivery confirmation, tracking and insurance are optional extras which can be discussed individually.

I will ship to the confirmed ETsy address so if this is not correct please let me know before paying.

// Shipping Problems
Any incorrect shipping payments due to administration error will be refunded into buyers PayPal account.

Due to the nature of my items for sale, which are generally original works, if any damages occur during shipping the situation will need to be rectified individually, however I will do what I can, considering the circumstances to ensure that the customer is satisfied with the purchase!

If the situation of a lost package was to occur and no insurance was purchased, please check with your post office and see if the problem can be resolved. If not we will work together on a suitable solution.

Sadly, due to the nature of the shopping process, refunds cannot be given for change of mind, however if the buyer is not satisfied with their product they may exchange at their own shipping expense.

Refunds will be given if the item does not match the image and description given, and for such situations shipping will be at my expense.

Any refunds or exchanges must be make within four weeks of purchase and must be returned and shipped in the condition they were sent and received.
