5 out of 5 starsThe wool is very soft and cosy and the flowerpattern is perfect for the dress I want to wear at the wedding of my daughter. Surely not the last shawl I will order. I really, really like it.

Knitting Lace for Brides
I can say that I have knitted practically my whole life. My mother taught me when I was five and I have been hooked on handicraft ever since.
In Estonia one of the most difficult things you can knit is a Haapsalu shawl. I had always imagined getting married wearing one that I knitted. I started to knit it at the beginning of 2012, but with small children I found it difficult to find time for knitting something that needed so much concentration. I got married without my lace shawl, but it was still one of the happiest days of my life.
A few years later I tried to knit lace again and I loved it! Since then I have spent all my free time (and some of the not so free time) lace knitting. Being a full-time mom, knitting gives me another way of expressing myself, keeps stress at bay and makes me really, really happy.
When the time was right to introduce my knitting to others I turned to an alias I had been using - Artanis. It means "noble woman" in Quenya, an elvish language invented by J.R.R. Tolkien. Is there a better name for lace knit items for weddings? Everybody has the right to feel like a princess on one of the most important days of their life!

Knitting is the passion that runs in our family. My mom taught me to knit when I was five years old and now my six year old daughter is also learning how to knit. In 2014 I discovered the world of lace knitting and absolutely fell in love with it. So Artanis Wedding Lace was born.
