Arte d'Amato is an art quilting business I developed after many years as Sewing Wonders (alterations business).

I started by doing alterations, costumes, custom clothing as a business in 2001. In 2013, I started to learn quilting to use it to creatively express myself, and I was eager to learn as much as I can about quilting!

There's a lot of creative knowledge and skills I have gained from my creative multi-generation family! I was exposed to knitting, crochet, tatting, upholstery, and sewing just to name a few. Also, my maiden name is D'Amato which means "of beloved ones" in Italian. I wanted to give a nod to my family and all the support they have given me when I chose this new business name. “Arte”simply means art in Italian.

At the beginning of 2020, I found myself needing to self-care. I discovered Zentangle (which most of my art is now inspired by). I started using it as a meditation through drawing. I still use it as a meditation and turn my fabric art drawings into pieces that others can purchase and enjoy as well. Adding the quilting element has really brought my art to a method that reflects my personality.

I am using a combination of paint and ink and thread on fabric to create my art.

All of my pieces are an awesome gift for retirement, graduation, wedding, baby shower, birthday, and even a self gift! The wall hangings are wonderful pieces of art for your home, office, living room, and many more places!

I have a passion for keepsakes and memories like the t-shirt quilts and pillows. I am always interested to hear my customer's stories that each shirt or photo evokes.
