The necklace is beautiful as is the artist! Ordering was very easy and in lieu of shipping the artist made a very special hand delivery for me as the person receiving the gift was in a Health Care facility. I will definitely recommend this site to friends.

I've been making jewellery for about two and a half years, and selling it for two. I actually have a fine art background, portraits, figurative, mostly drawing -- so, all 2D. I'd always wanted to get back to sculpture and ceramics which I studied in art college, but I move a lot and I needed to do something portable. Back in the real world, for many years I worked for geologists out in BC and lived in the Yukon, hence my interest in rocks, mining and love of the wilderness, after which I was off to Italy to pursue artistic goals, and so it goes.

I found Precious Metal Clay (PMC) totally by accident one day a couple of years ago, had my ah-hah moment, signed up on the spot for a class and I was hooked from the get-go.

When I started making PMC jewellery I thought that silver and turquoise would be a logical and natural combination, blue being my favourite colour. I looked high and low but I couldn't find BLUE turquoise anywhere – you know, the colour we all have in our heads as what "true" turquoise is – let alone in the small quantities I could afford at the time.

After months of searching online and going to bead store after bead store, wholesalers and rock and mineral shows all over southern Ontario, I still couldn't find what I was looking for. There was dyed and imitation everything aplenty, but no genuine turquoise to be found – and I was greeted with blank looks when I asked for it.

I finally stumbled across a turquoise bead supplier online, made a tiny initial buy and was blown away by the quality and colour. I had no idea turquoise could come in so many colours and be so heart-stoppingly beautiful. So, I bought more... and more... and more.

For those of you who share my love of genuine turquoise, I will be offering, as I upload it, individual beads or partial strings of turquoise from the following mines, as well as others as I acquire it:

Sleeping Beauty, Kingman, Castle Dome, Pinto, Nacozari, Campo Frio, Campitos, Persian and selected Chinese turquoise.

If you've been looking for something in particular, please email me and, if I don't have it in my own stash, I'll try to help you find it.

Back to actually making jewellery, I design my pieces to function as body sculpture, with the idea that while my pieces will look a certain way in and of themselves, when worn, each piece will take on the coloration as well as the personality of the wearer and quite simply come alive.

Right now, I'm pursuing my love of plants by making pure silver leaves and flowers. These I offer as finished earrings and necklaces/pendants. Please note that I do sell individual leaves and flowers for jewellery-makers to use in their own creations, in which case, pricing is based on the weight of the individual item. Email me what you're looking for and I'll post it if I have it, or I can make it for you.

Payment
I accept Paypal. I will accept email/Interac payments and/or direct bank deposit in Canada only. HST (13%) will be charged on Ontario sales. All other taxes, tariffs and shipping charges are the responsibility of the buyer.
Shipping
At the moment, I use Canada Post for shipping. If you require extra insurance, expedited or courier delivery, this will cost extra and depend on the individual order. I strongly recommend all parcels be insured, which costs approximately $1 per $100 of coverage.

A guide to shipping rates will be posted shortly.
Refunds and Exchanges
No refunds or exchanges. I make all items to be as strong as possible to survive years of normal wear.

All my jewellery is constructed to be taken apart, so that individual parts, such as the silver, can be cleaned professionally and reassembled, and repairs can be easily made. Any repairs and shipping will be the responsibility of the customer, and no guarantee can be made that I can match the stones or silver components.

Note that I use the highest quality of turquoise, and care must be taken. Water (showers, swimming), soaps, body lotions, perfumes and hair spray as well as ambient air pollution will damage all fine jewellery and most particularly porous stones like turquoise.
