About artefactredux

Sales 210
On Etsy since 2011

Just another love story.

Artefact Redux was hatched by my husband and I some time in '06 when we were only lovers and he was not yet diagnosed with cancer. Born of our shared love of things old and dusty, tinkering and artistry, it was a creative union and outlet.

We'd both been artists in our own right all our lives, myself making jewelry since grade school. He excelled at every medium he applied himself to, from bass guitar to polymer clay. Once we joined forces shows, gallery spots and festivals happened. An especially proud moment was being invited to participate in First Coast Fashion Week 2012. Today Artefact Redux jewelry is available online as well as brick & mortar locations in Jacksonville, FL.

Artefact Redux jewelry is the end result of cobbling and collating things collected. We're driven to return the discarded and forgotten to the world with a new shape, lending them new lives.

Due to his illness, his role became less and less visible, but more invaluable than I can ever express. With his death, Artefact Redux is just me. It is the only thing that has remained since his passing. I cannot imagine abandoning this endeavor and losing all that he and we achieved.

This means each component of each unique piece is hand picked, whether it is a fragment of turn-of-the-century lace or German clockwork. They each have stories and histories that become part of the beautiful story you are writing for yourself.

NOTE: "Vintage" or "antique" refers to the age of the element, not the finish or aesthetic. Words like "aged," "patinate," and "darken" are used to describe new or salvaged elements that are altered.

Returns and exchanges
I am very hard on the jewelry that I wear on a daily basis. Thus I design and stress test the pieces I make for purchase with that in mind. That being said, I do work almost exclusively with vintage and antique elements that should be cherished and treated gently. My jewelry probably isn't meant for mosh pits or young children. If something is damaged during shipping or soon after you purchase it, please contact me.
