Recently I have been embracing my Scottish heritage and added this Scottish Thistle pendant to my collection. The shop owner was a lovely lovely person in every way . I love this piece❤️

The earrings were better than I imagined. Gave these to my mom for her birthday, since she LOVES hummingbirds. She loved them so much she wore them 2 days in a row without taking them off!

About

Color, tranformation, and beauty

I've been making jewelry for years, and officially opened my Etsy shop in 2010. I love the alchemy of art. In papermaking, I transform dried bark into beautifully pigmented pulp, and then create sheets of paper and art pieces from that.

In my fine silver and PMC pieces, I use a classic alchemy tool: fire. The moment when a fine silver ring takes form is so satisfying! Similarly, when I torch fire my dried PMC (precious metal clay) charms, it delights me to know that they have changed from metal-laden clay to pure metal.

Nature brings me the purest joy I know; I adore being in the South African bush seeing wildlife. When I can't be there, however, our three cats and loud little dog provide the wildlife in our home. Well, that and the occasional excitement of a skunk or raccoon outside the front door.

The San Francisco Bay Area is my home, and I wouldn't want to live anywhere else.

Thank you for taking the time to read about me and my shop - and thank you for your support of handmade artisans!

Owner, Maker, Designer, I Do It All!

I am in love with beauty and color and have been an artist all my life. Making jewelry delights me; I am drawn to bright shiny objects! I enjoy working in other media, as well - handmade paper, painting, encaustic, fused glass...you name it.

L.C. has a consistent and irrepressible urge to join me whenever I am in the studio. He doesn't actually help make anything. He does, however, like to take naps on whatever I'm working on. While I'm working on it.

Thank you for considering my shop to fulfill your jewelry desires! My intention is to take care of you as I would take care of my friends. If you are looking for beautiful, high quality, handmade jewelry from a trustworthy artist (yep, that's me), you've come to the right spot.

I am an established artist, having worked in handmade paper, paint, fused glass and more. Jewelry is now my medium of choice. The pieces I make are one of a kind or limited edition only, so you can be assured that you will be wearing something really special. I use the best materials possible, and only make pieces that I would (and do!) wear myself. My jewelry is stylish and current, without being tragically trendy. Know what I mean?

I hope I can provide you with exactly what you are looking for. Enjoy your shopping experience, and thanks again for visiting Artful Hummingbird.

All USA orders are shipped flat rate Priority Mail within 48 hours of payment clearing, unless otherwise noted in my Shop Announcement or item listing. If it will take longer than 48 hours (very unusual) I will let you know.

If you'd prefer another shipping method or would like to arrange local pickup within the San Francisco Bay Area, let me know and we can arrange that.

Please note that for international shipments, the buyer is responsible for any applicable import fees, taxes, tariffs, or duties at the time of delivery. For further information, you may contact your local customs agency.
Additional policies and FAQs
I enjoy creating custom items, so if you don't see exactly what you like here, send me a message. Let's put our heads together to make something that is perfect for you or your gift recipient. I welcome custom orders, and love working with brides! Send me a message and let's see if we're a match.

Custom orders may take up to 1-2 weeks to complete - sometimes more, sometimes less. I strive to complete custom orders as quickly as possible. Factors affecting the timeline are the complexity of the project and how quickly I can source needed materials (if I don't already have them).
