Inspirada en el arte moderno, los artefactos antiguos, la geología, la geometría y las conversaciones con el cuerpo, la joyería de imágenes agrega las "pinceladas" finales a su autoexpresión. Debido a que hago todo (excepto algunas cadenas y la mayoría de las cuentas) a mano, generalmente comenzando con una tabla rasa de chapa metálica, alambre y el potencial de las herramientas, cada pieza de joyería es única. La paleta de materiales hechos a mano de cobre, latón, plata esterlina o rellenos de oro que uso se puede perforar y serrar a mano, darle textura y pátina mediante diversas técnicas y pintar a mano para lograr color y contraste. A veces incluyo los colores terrosos o vibrantes de las piedras preciosas y el vidrio como complementos; las variaciones naturales en estos materiales son como pequeños mundos en sí mismos. PROCESO: Una vez finalizado el diseño y el trabajo creativo, aplico dos o tres aplicaciones de cera Renaissance sobre el metal y los componentes parcialmente pintados para protegerlos de la humedad, el oxígeno y otros elementos corrosivos que pueden empañar y alterar la superficie de sus joyas. Los museos utilizan la cera Renaissance para preservar objetos antiguos y de arte. Las piezas completamente pintadas se sellan con un sellador de resina polimérica transparente y una capa final de cera Renaissance para ayudar a preservar y proteger la superficie pintada y resistir rayones. No se deben pulir, lavar ni exponer a elementos abrasivos.
CUIDADO DE LAS JOYAS: Siempre identifico los materiales utilizados para crear su pieza de joyería e incluyo instrucciones de cuidado con cada compra. Se recomienda guardarla en una bolsita pequeña (incluida con la compra) para una mejor protección. También incluyo una tira antideslustre en la bolsita que ayuda a que sus joyas resistan la oxidación y se mantengan brillantes. Sin embargo, no permita que las piezas pintadas y patinadas se mojen. Tenga especial cuidado de quitarse los anillos, que reciben el mayor desgaste, al lavarse las manos, lavar los platos, ducharse, nadar o realizar otras actividades húmedas o abrasivas para preservar la pintura y/o la pátina. Welcome to imagery . . .
Inspired by modern art, ancient artifacts, geology, geometry, and conversations with the body, imagery jewelry adds the final "brush strokes" to your self-expression. Because I make everything (except some chain and most beads) by hand---usually starting with a tabula rasa of sheet metal, wire, and the potential of tools--each piece of jewelry is unique. The palette of hand-fabricated copper, brass, sterling silver, and or gold-filled materials that I use may be pierced and hand sawed, rendered with texture and patina via various techniques, and hand-painted for color and contrast. I sometimes include the earthy or vibrant colors of gemstones and glass as complements--the natural variations in these materials are like little worlds in themselves. I enjoy experimenting and transferring what I learn to new designs.
I also don't mass produce, and I limit the interruptive sound of motors and machines to hand fabricate every piece. This facilitates a meditative focus for me, during which I put a lot of attention and intention into what you will receive.
PROCESS: After the design and creative work is finished, I put two to three applications of Renaissance wax on the metal and partially painted components to protect against moisture, oxygen, and other corrosive elements that can tarnish and alter the surface of your jewelry. Renaissance wax is used by museums to preserve antique and art objects. While Renaissance wax slows down the tarnishing process, copper, brass, and sterling silver will slowly darken over time, but you will still be able to polish your pieces to a brighter finish, if desired, using these great polishing pads that can be purchased inexpensively at

Fully painted pieces are sealed with a clear polymer-resin sealant and a final layer of Renaissance wax to help preserve and protect the painted surface and resist scratches. These should not be polished, washed, or exposed to abrasive elements.
CARE OF JEWELRY: I always identify the materials used to create your piece of jewelry and include care instructions with each purchase. Storage in a small baggie--included with purchase--is recommended for best protection. I also include an anti-tarnish strip in the baggie that helps your jewelry resist oxidation and stay bright. Nevertheless, do not allow painted and patinated pieces to get wet. Be especially careful to remove rings, which receive the most wear and tear, when washing hands, doing dishes, showering, swimming, or other wet or abrasive activities in order to preserve the paint and/or patina. Both paint and patina hold up well over time with the recommended care.
