The Luxury of Simplicity

My name is Cristy Ramos and I have been making soap since 2011. My soap-making journey began when my son, Israel, came up with the idea as we made a change to use sustainable products. This lifestyle is what I’ve called “The Luxury of Simplicity.”

Artisan Bath & Body’s Etsy shop was opened on December 16, 2012, and the website was opened later. What started as something for personal use became a product that ignited a full-time job I am deeply devoted to.

(CICI) Our core values:
Commitment - to provide quality products.
Integrity - being transparent and honest.
Consistency - being accurate and fair.
Innovation - to formulate new products.

All of the soap formulas are my own. The cold process method is my favorite method to make soap. I can guarantee that every single one of my products is made with the best ingredients and of course, loads of love. Always in small batches to assure quality and freshness.

Every ingredient I put into my products is carefully selected. I proudly make my products in North Las Vegas, Nevada.

I am extremely thankful to our customers. I appreciate all the loyalty throughout the years. I value my customer's reviews as they have become an important part of my research and development process. Every testimonial warms my heart, brightens up my day, and encourages me to continue formulating products.

Growth is always substantial. As a family and business, we are growing together. Our business goal is to offer the finest products to our customers.

How is Your Soap Made?

Our soaps are hand-made from scratch, without detergents or pre-made commercial soap bases, in small batches of 18 bars. The glycerin formed in the soap-making process is retained. All of our soap bars are super-fatted, which means they have free fatty acids, to gently clean the skin. We use natural ingredients in our soaps, such as GMO-free vegetable oils and butter, RSPO certified sustainable Palm Oil, iron oxides, phthalate-free fragrances, organic essential oils, herbs, clays, and minerals. We never test on animals and oppose the engineered food industry. We select raw materials from reputable vendors.

What is the Cold Process Method?

The cold process method is a way to make soap bars without the use of additional heat to hurry the chemical reaction along; instead, it is done with its own natural process to take its course. Natural cold process soap needs to slowly "cure" over time. We allow our soaps to naturally air cure for their needed amount of time. During the first two weeks of curing, the saponification process is completed. As the soap continues to cure, most of the water used in the recipe evaporates. The curing process ensures a harder, longer-lasting bar of soap.

Why Sodium Hydroxide (lye)?

If there is no lye in the making process, there is no soap! All real bars of soap are made with sodium hydroxide, also known as lye. Any skin-washing product or shampoo made without sodium hydroxide is a detergent, not soap; lye is needed for saponification. Even though lye was added in the making process, there is no lye left in the finished product.

About Soap

Technically and naturally, soap cannot be moisturizing. Soap is intended to clean as it is a wash-off product. A well balanced handmade soap can be less stripping to the skin’s natural oils. Some additives in our bars of soap have exfoliation properties that may make your skin feel softer.

Are Your Products Vegan?

Most of our products are vegan, except those that contain goat milk, beeswax, lanolin, honey, yogurt, silk, pearl, or buttermilk.
