Buying vintage, pre-loved, and second-hand jewelry often means you are getting an uncommon or unique item and/or you are getting a better than retail price on comparable items. My goal here is to offer an appealing and interesting selection of vintage and antique sterling silver and fine gold jewelry, along with attractive and quality pieces of costume jewelry. Here and there you may find some intriguing collectibles and uncommon home decor listings scattered among the jewels. There's always a great reason to buy now. Whether it's because you deserve it, or it's a GIFT for an upcoming birthday, anniversary, holiday, sweetheart, appreciation of friendship, or any other reason, be prepared, plan ahead. Earn thoughtfulness points. Please browse throughout my shop, find something for yourself or that special gift, and check back often as new listings are added almost daily. If you see something you like, it's best to get it before it's gone as these are mostly one of a kind item listings (meaning whatever is listed, most likely, there's only one in my inventory). If you wait, it may be too late!

Layaway may be available. Please inquire.

You can heart (aka favorite) the items in my shop which are of interest to you and favorite this shop so you can easily navigate and find your way back here.
Happy day!

BUYERS FROM RUSSIA AND ITS TERRITORIES, PLEASE READ MY POLICIES FOR DETAILED INFORMATION.
Покупатели с русского и его территорий, пожалуйста, ознакомьтесь с моими политиками для получения подробной информации.

International buyers, all customs and duty taxes which your country's government may impose are solely the responsibility of the buyer. I have no control over this. Thank you for understanding.

Information on fine gold and silver jewelry and wares:
- 24K gold is pure gold. (it is rarely used in the making of fine jewelry due to its softness, making it impractical for daily wear.)
-21K (875) or 22K (916) is 21 or 22 parts gold and 3 or 2 parts other metals. It is used extensively in Saudi Arabia and other Middle Eastern countries, as well as a few other countries other than America. This gold content is not as common as the others listed here.
-18K (750) gold contains 18 parts gold and 6 parts other metals, making it 75% gold. This level of fineness is used extensively in European, Asian, and Middle Eastern jewelry and in many fine quality pieces of fine jewelry worldwide.)
-14K (585)gold contains 14 parts gold and 10 parts of one or more additional metals, making it 58.5% gold. (It is used extensively in the US)
-12K gold contains 12 parts gold and 12 parts of one or more additional metals, making it 50% gold.
-10K (416) gold contains 10 parts gold and 14 parts of one or more additional metals, making it 41.6% gold. 10K gold is the minimum standard that can be called "gold" in the United States. Some other countries make 8K gold jewelry but these are uncommonly found pieces.
Antique jewelry and older rare gold pieces often contain lower levels of fineness, but their value is based on a myriad of other factors. Often times when old gold pieces are tested for gold content, they will have mixed results in the K fineness due to gold being hand mixed and melted and not always equally dispersed throughout the piece during the process of being created.

Gold FILLED metal has 100+ times the amount of gold than gold plated jewelry. It is much more durable and retains its lustrous appearance for many years and won't wear down to the alloy metal like gold plated metal does. If the luster becomes dull, simply polish the gold filled metal with a sunshine cloth or lens cloth and voila, it is shiny again! Gold filled jewelry is an affordable alternative and also better for sensitive skin. Gold plated jewelry will usually wear through pretty quickly with regular use.

Sterling silver can mean a number of things. Usually, it means .925, 92.5 parts silver and 7.5 parts other metals. Sometimes jewelry has marks such as 800, or 830, which was typically used on older jewelry made in European and other countries. Sometimes the amount of silver was actually less than 92.5 and sometimes the jewelry was actually a higher silver content but was marked with a lower number so the maker would pay fewer assay taxes on the silver. Many times silver jewelry and wares are marked with just the word Sterling or Silver, or the numbers 950, 970, 975 were used, or .999 meaning the silver content is higher than average. Items with the .999 mark are almost pure silver with an additive to strengthen the metal and are used primarily for bullion, coins, and some other applications.

About

A Little Somethin' About Me...

If you're looking for my shop, Its here:
http://www.etsy.com/shop/julesbaublesandmore

I grew up on the west coast in the Bay Area of Northern California and have been a longtime resident of the Valley of the Sun in Arizona. I am the child of Dutch Immigrants and I love and respect my heritage. I worked in department stores in the jewelry and accessories departments years ago and that's where my love of jewelry has its roots. I had inherited some wonderful pieces of jewelry when my mom passed away very soon after the birth of my first child (in 1994), resulting in a conflict of emotions including loss, uncertainty, depression, and joy. With these profound changes in my life came the need to deeply ponder my being, my future, and the future of my family. Part of that thought process resulted in the actions which would one day guide me into this business of selling online and choosing Etsy for the homesite of my business. Those items from my mom were stored in a box for years until 2008 when I "rediscovered" those jewels in storage and decided it was time to go through them, keep the pieces I wanted as family heirlooms and such, and figure out what to do with the rest. I headed to downtown Glendale, Arizona, well known for being the antique district and went into some stores and was amazed at the splendors from the past. After talking with some folks there I came away with a new-found appreciation for what I had and for all the interesting stuff I learned, and the images of all those beautiful baubles fresh in my mind. Well, things took off from there. My interest grew as I began researching and searching for pieces of jewelry (and other items) through thrift shops, estates sales, garage sales, etc. I gathered quite a stash pretty quickly. I opened my Etsy shop in January of 2010 and after a few years I took a hiatus from my shop which turned into a couple of years and then reopened in June 2015. A lot had changed, and for the better I might add.

I endeavor to fill my shop with items for sale which reflect a diverse and eclectic mix of followers and customers, like yourself. I aspire to fulfill such a tall order as it is not an effortless enterprise. I love what I do here and I am grateful to have all the time, energy, knowledge, and understanding to devote to and cultivate my business. This is so much more than a full-time job. It has become my life. And every day it seems I learn something new, and I especially love that. I've "met" so many wonderful people through this venue and I am thankful for that and them.

So please, on that note, see for yourself and look inside my shop "Jules Baubles and More". You may just find that needed or desired something for yourself or as a gift. Or, just maybe, you would like to assist me in my endeavor to succeed.
In any case, happy day!

Julie

Frequently asked questions

Can I make payment arrangements or do a layaway plan?

Yes, under most circumstances. Please contact me so we can discuss the process and make arrangements to complete the transaction. I require 25% of the cost for the down payment which is non-refundable if you change your mind or cannot continue making payments. I appreciate you supporting my Small Business endeavor.

I request at least two payments per month until the item is paid in full. The item will not be shipped until the balance is paid in full. I do NOT charge interest, or any additional fees for holds, layaways, or payments plans. We deserve nice jewelry that will last and can be passed on to the next generation. I am more than willing to work out an arrangement so please contact me. Thank you.

What happens if my package is lost or damaged in transit?

This will be handled on a per case basis. You may be asked to provide photos of the damaged package and contents. This very rarely occurs. Each and any situation will be handled professionally, respectfully, and properly, and in accordance with the specifics of a given situation or circumstance. Packages are insured and have tracking with fees included in the total shipping costs. Being a very small business which is my sole income I cannot afford to cover these costs and if they are lumped in with the item/s cost I will have to pay a percentage to Etsy as well as I am limited to the shipping expenses I can submit when paying income taxes. So, I prefer to keep these costs separated. Thank you for understanding.

Do you consider offers or give discounts on multi item purchases in a single transaction?

Reasonable offers are always considered. A discount may be given on purchases of multiple items. Please inquire/send me a message. If you request a discount or make an offer, and I accept the offer, I will send you a message letting you know that I have accepted your terms and I will revise the listing and reserve/hold it for you up to 24 hours from the time I responded to your offer. I may hold it longer if I am contacted and notified that you need extra time. If I do not hear back from you in those 24 hours, I will assume you are no longer interested and the listing will be revised again, back to its original format. You are welcome to contact me. I welcome all communications and I appreciate you being here.

IMPORTANT for INTERNATIONAL SHOPPERS: How long will it take for my international destination package to arrive?

Some of the higher cost and more valuable items for sale here may require you to contact me for a shipping cost quote. Tracking must be available for the package's destination. If you choose USPS First Class International mail, it may take several weeks for the package to arrive and will most likely be held for tax and import fees imposed by your country's government. If you choose USPS Priority International Shipping which costs more, the package will arrive sooner than First Class but may still be held for tax and import fees. Please be aware that there are too many variables to be able to accurately state how long it will take for an international package to arrive at its destination. Please contact me with any questions.

How long does it take for my package to be mailed (taken to the post office)?

1-3 business days, sometimes on the same day as purchased. Please send a convo if you need something in a hurry.

Delivery times...

Vary depending on the mailing service used (usually the United States Postal Service) and the destination country of the package. USA customers, 1st Class usually takes 3-5 days, Priority mail or Flat Rate Priority Mail usually takes 1-3 days. International packages can take weeks for delivery to occur, especially if there are import taxes, duties, or other fees which the receiving country's postal service may impose. Please contact your local postal service for further information, if necessary.

Buyers from Russian territories

If you reside in Russia and are interested in making a purchase from my shop, please contact me to arrange the purchase. Please note that if I purchase insurance for your package, it is only valid to the point of the air transportation. Once the package lands on the ground in Russia, the insurance is not longer valid and I am not responsible for any losses or damage to the package or its contents once it is in Russian territories. Please ask any questions you may have prior to making a purchase and I will be happy to work with you. Thank you for understanding.
