5 out of 5 starsAll of Amy's work is beautiful, but I think this piece is my new favorite of my whole Komar collection. It looks gorgeous on the wall, and the birch frame is beautifully made and just perfect for this piece. So lucky to have this bringing light in our home! Thank you, Amy!

Daily nudges lead to dreams fulfilled
Following dreams usually starts with a random event, perhaps like this one. It's 1999 and you're in a studio class at UT/Austin. Your art professor looks you in the eye and says: "You've got to figure out a way to make your play your work and your work your play."
It's really that simple, and I took this advice to heart after years of being “gently nudged” by it while working as a waitress, window washer, sales rep, landscaper, after school art teacher, and personal assistant. One day the list stops at “self-employed artist.” I give a sigh of relief, my heart sings, and each day is better than the one before.
Here is the heart of my discovery. Life thrives with the right balance of creative energy + working each day towards your dream. When we walk a path that is authentic to our hearts desire -- where at the end of the day we've honored ourselves and in turn we've helped make the world a softer place to be -- we are successful. Our dreams will manifest.
It took me years to understand this. I cobbled together my path to "full-time maker" by making lots of mistakes, slaying a lot of inner critics, but still striving each day to live as authentically as possible and that meant working a little every day on things that reflected my dream. It wasn't easy, it sure felt like it took ages at times, but in the end it has made all the difference.
Joseph Campbell is indeed a wise man: FOLLOW YOUR BLISS.
