About

Needle-felted creations, tutorials, and digital goodies

I started my shop years ago when I first got into making jewelry, and I really enjoyed making and selling jewelry on Etsy. However the jewelry market is extremely saturated, and I was having a hard time finding my niche, although I did make a few sales. Life happened: I got married, got a dog, gave birth to two precious children, quit my day job in between kids to stay at home and raise them with the hopes of homeschooling them when they're older. I got into needle-felting when a long-time friend of mine asked me to make a baby mobile for her when she was still pregnant, and I decided to give myself the challenge of doing it entirely by needle felting. It turned out amazing, and her daughter (who is over a year old now) still enjoys it. While working on the mobile, my own daughter kept wanting to play with the pieces (and I let her, because I wanted to see how they hold up, which they did). That inspired me to start making toys for my own daughter. Then, since I was planning on homeschooling, I started thinking of ways I could create needle-felted toys that could also be used as teaching tools. After much pressure from friends and family, I have decided to try selling them here, in hopes that other parents, teachers and children will enjoy them just as much as my own family does. I do not make anything that my own children wouldn't love - in fact, as I'm making them, my daughter keeps wanting to claim them for herself "are you making for me?" She is now three years old, and the things I made for her a year ago are still among her favorite toys and have held up despite all the love she's given them. This is proof to me that these are little treasures that other children will enjoy as well.
I have since started exploring all the different possibilities of needle felting, and I'm sharing what I've learned with you through my tutorials. I don't hold anything back or keep any "secrets" of the trade. What I know I share with you, and what I don't know (that you may ask) I will look it up or experiment with it to find out the answer.
The digital goodies are from items I've created for my own use and thought they could be used by others as well. Although it is easier for me at the moment to do needle-felting while watching my children (it is a more portable craft), every now and then I still get a chance to sit down at my computer and work on some graphics. As I start creating more teaching tools such as worksheets for my own children, printouts and activities, they will also be listed under the digital goodies section.
Feel free to contact me for custom orders - items such as baby mobiles I would preferably make to order so I can match your theme instead of creating them ahead of time and listing them. If you'd like to see the mobile I created for my friend, head over to my shop blog.
