This is a quality, compact item that will stand up to a lot of use. The plastic (case and tiles) is durable and not thin, nor does it feel flimsy in any way. It's a well thought out, easy to use way to record your castings without having to use pen and paper. It's fairly pricy, yes, but if you use the I Ching quite a bit then over time that won't really matter. I think, with regard to price, you have to understand that this is not a mass produced item, and devices like this are not common. Each tile, although having the same line on each side, gives you a choice of whether you prefer a thick line marking with less background color contrast, or a thin line marking with more background color contrast.

I absolutely LOVE this! It is very well designed. The fact that the top can be an incense holder is really nice! I had trouble deciding on which color to get but landed on getting the silver one and it is beautiful! This is a great addition to my I Ching practice.
