Announcement   Welcome to my multiverse! I offer weird, colorful, unique modern Botanical Anatomy Art, Brain Art, Colorful Geometric Pop Art & Typography, Empowering Feminist Art, Contemporary Surrealism, Astrobiology Art, Surreal Animal Art, and sometimes super weird Fantasy Art– sometimes clean, crisp and minimalist, sometimes with antique print styling and dark themes. My main thing is rather beautiful, tasteful feminist erotic art goddess surrealism (my most popular art!). My original art collage & digital illustration has many themes: anatomical art, biology & scientific art, brain art, erotic floral anatomy art, unique botanical collage, fantasy art, and surreal art of the human, animal, and alien anatomy variety; demons, fairies, angels and other supernatural creatures; Victorian inspired animal people; whimsical mythology; and flights of fancy with butterflies, snakes, crows, moons, mushrooms, stars, and more.

I offer up my inner Paracosms to you as unusual whimsical wonderful weird artwork that I ship worldwide year-round. I bet you'll find the perfect unique art print gift right here for someone who is adorably weird! Or yourself. Just take a little trip into my universe and browse the cabinet of curiosities from my extremely peculiar and papery dreams. (Don't you just love peeking inside other people's brains?) I just let my weird light shine bright so other weirdos know where to find me. We are all weird in our own ways, and you weirdos are my tribe.

I've been often told that my head must be an interesting place to live...

Speaking of interesting heads! You can also visit my other Etsy shop, my sister's, since I run and maintain it. Her stuff isn't weird, but it IS angry funny, and made of cautionary tales in savage collage... https://www.etsy.com/shop/alicedoesmalice

About

Artist. Writer. Illustrator. Surrealist.

I grew up squarely suspended between curious science labs and late night art salons, languishing in moldering ancient Southern libraries in the winter, and swinging through lush green kudzu jungles in the summertime. I often pored through vintage books and loved the old, faded chromolithograph illustrations, scratchy photographs, and old typography. I collected specimens in jars, boxes, and bowls despite my mother's best efforts to throw it all out, dug glass and fossils from hills, arrowheads from fields, saved leaves and curiosities, catalogued seed pods and insect husks. I spent a lot of time up trees, upside down, laying half-buried in tractor bins full of harvested cotton bolls, and spying shapes in the clouds above. I don't think I talked to other children as much as I talked to butterflies, birds, and cats. How could I not? Built houses for frogs. Picked every flower. Dreamed the surreal dreams of paintings I had seen in galleries and art films I had spied on the sly through the cracks of doors. Read every classic science fiction book and imagined other universes... when I wasn't falling in and out of them. I find multiverses happy and sad at the same time. I imagine for all that, I just can't see the world as anyone else does. I'm always imagining monsters, fairies, demons, and fairytale creatures serving coffee, buildings getting up in the dead of night to fight each other on chicken legs, shadows slipping off into wherever it is shadows go, and pies floating in the sky. You can't trust mirrors, though, any fairytale will teach you that. I just want to make art, and dream, and try to avoid falling into alternate multiverses where I am me, but different. Except maybe that one where I was a popular physicist made popular by my theory of the universe as an orange. That was my favorite one. Or the one populated by cat people who believed the universe originated when a giant cat god hurled it forth like cosmic hairballs. When I'm not dreaming, I like to drink wine, cook experimental things, and grow very dangerous gardens...

Artist. Writer. Illustrator. Surrealist. I'm one of Hell's own Southern Belles raised on voodoo and fairy tales, in love with old illustrations and humorous puzzles. I've been dealing in dreams, illusions, and alternate universes since 1971.

  • Lu

    Mischief Maker

Don't let her sweetness fool you, she's a one-kid wrecking ball of sheer destruction who leaps from bed ready to create art, robots, fully illustrated books, and do weird science from dawn til dusk. She asks really deep questions in between.

  • Hinchditty

    Knucklebuster

Balances out the Creative Right Brain with the Left Brain of Reason since the year 2000. He wears orange tee shirts with foxes on them, and sometimes he cuts loose and wears funny hats.

    Feline Paperweight

Must sit on the human's lap to make sure she doesn't float away while she is dreaming and making art.

Welcome, friends & dreamers! If you don't see the size print you want, or you'd like a fancier paper, I can add a Custom Listing just for you. Send me a Convo!

All new prints from 7x9 up to 11x14 in size (as of August 2016) are printed on a heavy paper stock with a satin lustre finish. Prints larger than 11x14 may have a different finish (and may be mailed in tubes, rather than being mailed flat).

All previous prints of the past few years have had a matte finish.

Some select art designs (many not shown) are available around Christmas and Valentine's Day as 4x6 postcard sets on heavy stock.

Returns and exchange details
Hi friend- If, for some reason, you feel you have to return something or there is a problem, please contact me immediately (and I hope you won't need to) within 1 to 3 days of receipt of your art items. Then I must receive the art _back_ to me within 7 business days of that Convo.

I can issue a refund once I receive the art, and it must be in the original condition. The art may NOT be damaged.

Return shipping is to be paid by the buyer, which is you, and only the purchase price will be refunded upon receipt. The original shipping cost is non-refundable.

***If you find the art was damaged by the U.S. Post Office when you receive it, it is critical that you must provide photos of the box or mailer packaging AND the damaged art, and we'll have to work it out with them: you can have a refund after they refund me for damages. UPS and FedEx are usually better with this.
Payment
Everything. PAYPAL & DIRECT CHECKOUT (credit cards, debit cards and Etsy gift cards).
Shipping
SHIPPING IS GOING UP AGAIN, AS IT DOES EVERY YEAR: But I have no control over this. I use "CALCULATED SHIPPING" which means I put into the information of the listing the weight the individual print will weigh when packaged to ship (or as close as I can within a few ounces), and it will automatically show or give you a cost to ship depending on where you live. The US Post Office is entirely responsible for the cost you see. Also, Etsy is now taking 5% of the money you pay to ship an item from an Etsy seller, so we're all actually taking a hit. It's meant to penalize sellers who gouge and overcharge for shipping costs, but it does not help sellers who use exact weights and the Calculated Shipping tool.

———————————————————

DOMESTIC U.S. SHIPPING
I ship Art Prints as soon as I can, and I pack most prints flat- so there's no curling or bending. Each one is enclosed in an archival acrylic sleeve, sandwiched between foam board and cardboard for safety, and sent in a rigid mailer. Larger orders are stacked and bubble-wrapped and BOXED for safety, and giant prints are mailed in tubes. Cards are mailed in a small rigid mailer.

I ship Art Prints as soon as I can get them done, usually within 1-3 days.

Any returns in the domestic United States must be in original condition and returned to me, the seller, within one week of receipt.

———————————————————

INTERNATIONAL SHIPPING
I ship Art Prints, cards, and canvas art Internationally via First Class International. All art sent to countries outside the United States must be sent to a verified address, and many will be insured through U-Pic via Etsy. Most items, even prints, are shipped in boxes to protect them during transit through Customs. Smaller ones are sent in rigid mailers. If you'd like one of the enormous prints, it will ship in a tube.

I only ship to the address in your Etsy order, I do not ship to PayPal addresses. I am not responsible if you accidentally give Etsy an incorrect address to ship your purchase to, so please check to make sure it is correct before you finalize your order!

Please be aware that any VAT/duty/tax required upon package arrival is the responsibility of the customer.

Etsy has recently added information to listings that says "VAT is included in the price (where applicable)." This does NOT apply to my shop. VAT is NOT included in my item prices and will still be your responsibility, as well as any other import taxes. If you haven't recieved your item in a few weeks, you need to check with your Customs office or wherever they send packages that have been pulled to pay a tax.

If an item gets left in Customs and is returned to me, your order will be cancelled and the item cost refunded to you, minus shipping.

There are no returns on Internationally mailed artwork, unless Customs returns an item to me directly as unpaid on any VAT or import duty taxes.

———————————————————

MARKING CUSTOMS FORMS AS "GIFT"
I cannot mark your purchase as "gift". That may be lenient or overlooked in some other countries, but here in the US it is fraud to mark purchased merchandise as a "gift" to evade paying tariff, import taxes, and VAT.

———————————————————

P.O. BOXES
I will not ship to a P.O. Box. Anywhere. This is just my policy.

———————————————————

RETURN SHIPPING
Any return shipping is to be paid by you, the buyer, and only the purchase price of your order will be refunded upon receipt. The original shipping cost is non-refundable.

———————————————————

HOLIDAY ORDERS
I cannot guarantee delivery of anything near a critical gift holiday unless it is ordered 7-10 business days in advance. Orders made after the Christmas deadline of 10 days in advance may not ship until after the first of the new year.
Additional policies and FAQs
PLEASE DOUBLE-CHECK THE ADDRESS YOU PROVIDE TO SHIP YOUR PACKAGE TO!

I am not responsible where your package may end up if you don't.

This applies double to International Orders.

This art and these art prints cost me money to produce, and cost you money to purchase, and if they have the correct address, the postal service should get it there, and everyone should be happy.

If you happen to live in a country or area where home mail service is unreliable, you should consider your options carefully before ordering.

Frequently asked questions
Can I get a tattoo of your art? And is copyright to the artwork transferrable with the sale of the item?

Heck YES you can get a tattoo of my art. If your tattoo artist doesn’t have a problem with it, then neither do I. Knock yourself out. Just give me a heads up. I'd love to see a photo of it!

However, copyright is NOT transferable with sale. I retain all copyrights to the artwork. Artwork may NOT be reproduced by any process without my express written permission.

Can I buy your images as a digital download?

Umm… no. I do not sell my images as downloadable files. However, I am about to begin offering special compositions as desktop patterns & screen savers.

If you’re interested in that option because you wanted to put my images on a specific home decor product, I DO offer some of my images (and ones upon request) on Society6 and Threadless on dozens of very cool home decor products. Just Convo me about it, or you can access it through my regular website. If there's something you don't see on there, I can add it for you especially.

Where’s the book?!!

Future projects! So many! I’ve been asked a lot since I did the Astrobiology art series, but I swear I will get to it. Eventually. All of the many books. A whole universe of them.

Do you make all of your pieces?

YES. I’m an American-based, one person operation. I do all the art, printing, packaging, and mailing myself. Though I do make my husband run to the post office for me quite a bit, and my daughter is part of the creative inspiration process. The cat and dog mostly just lay around my studio and provide furry support. All the Beta fish does is look fancy and enjoy my singing.

Do you offer originals of your art?

I don’t usually sell originals, most of what I sell are prints, because that's what people have historically been more interested in. Some of my originals are painted or illustrated, some are a combination of collage and illustration, and some are just done all digitally. I do sometimes have physical art shows or do arts & crafts fairs where I do offer originals. You can sign up for my newsletter on my website to get updates on shows and the availability of originals.

Are your pieces framed?

In order to reduce shipping costs, my pieces are all UNFRAMED, and mounted on foam board in an archival acrylic sleeve. Most of my art prints will fit into standard size frames.

Do you charge sales tax?

I am required by law to collect sales tax on all sales to Pennsylvania customers. This amount will be added on during checkout. This ONLY applies to Pennsylvania customers.

Cheaper shipping? Shipping times?

First class is already as cheap as it gets. I typically ship “flat” in acrylic sleeves with foam board backing and cardboard reinforcement (so no bending or curling) in a box... but to reduce shipping, I recently started shipping in rigid mailers. I can ship large prints in tubes on request. Just Convo me and I can hook you up!

All of my items are usually ready to ship in 1-3 business days. I ship them via USPS 1st Class Mail (or whatever option you've chosen) within 24-72 hours of receipt of payment.

Do you ship internationally? Can you mark my customs form "gift"?

Yes, I do ship all over the world, but please be aware that any VAT/duty/tax required upon package arrival is the responsibility of the customer. Etsy has recently added information to listings that says "VAT is included in the price (where applicable)." This does NOT apply to my shop. VAT is NOT included in the item price and will still be your responsibility, as well as any other import taxes. If an item gets left in Customs and is returned to me, your order will be cancelled and the item cost refunded to you, minus shipping.

And NO, I cannot mark your purchase as "gift". That may be lenient or overlooked in some other countries, but here in the US it is fraud to mark purchased merchandise as a gift to evade paying import taxes and VAT.

What do I do if I have a problem with my order?

5-star customer service is very important to me! If there is a problem with your order, please contact me and I will be happy to work with you to resolve it.
