I received the cute dark silver-tone or hematite spider web slide charm quickly. The transaction was professionally handled.

About

A passion for bling!

My Grandma Rose (my Dad's Mom) was what I would now describe as, an eccentric…and my reason for the love of bling. She lived in New York City on Cherry Street in a City subsidized senior citizen high rise, where she wrote plays for her fellow residents, made sure they ate and took care of them.

Her little apartment was painted lime green and pink. She had a fake parrot of the same colors, in a white patina bird cage in her living room. With a click of a switch, it became a songbird. The cage stood near a white gilded with gold plastic fireplace that, with another flick of a switch, would make the fake logs roll around a light, making it appear like a cozy log fire. She lived during the Great Depression and we're sure, was the reason her apartment was filled with candy jars filled with every sweet imaginable and would have put Willie Wonka to shame.

But of all her quirkiness, my favorite memory of her was when she'd come visit us in Brooklyn. She'd take the subway and several buses to get to us. We lived in what was called a two-family row house. I'd sit on the porch and watch her short grandma-body come up from the last bus stop, peaking beyond the giant projects from across the street. I'd get so excited!…because I knew she'd have a rhinestone piece of jewelry for me. It was her gifts of bling that I believe influenced my crazy, passionate love for unique shiny, glittering jewelry parts.

Fast forward many decades: I started my shop when I decided to sell off my collection of vintage jewelry components that I started collecting over many years. I sold out in less than a year and wanted to continue. So, I applied my knowledge as a branding designer to create a truly distinctive shop and used my experience in wholesale (I once created a line of whimsical jewelry that I sold wholesale) to find my unique supplies. It's been a joy. I hope Art Passions Design keeps you mesmerized and coming back for more.

Lastly, I thank you Grandma Rose. I bet you've got the angels all glamed up!

Frequently asked questions

Can I get more of an item if the quantity in the shop is less than what you want?

Most pewter and brass items are available to re-stock. Many of my shop's items are in limited supply. I will always check to see if more are available. The audience for my shop are mostly one-of-a-kind and limited edition jewelry designers, so most items are available in limited quantities to help jewelry designers create a truly unique piece.

What is the process for a custom order of supplie?

Once I know I can get more, I put up a reserve listing for a 50% deposit on your order. The balance plus shipping is put up in a reserve listing once the items arrive at my shop. Once the balance is paid, your order is shipped via standard or requested shipping. Please note: shipping time to receive your custom order at my shop can vary. I try to give you the best estimated time of arrival as possible. I cannot be responsible for post office or shipping company's delays.
