Etsy helped me find my way

My Etsy journey began when my husband I couldn't afford to buy stockings for our first Christmas together, Using leftover decorator fabric given to me by my Grandma, I made us a set, which I still adore. Over the next few years I sold sets to neighbors who saw them. I had also upcycled some notebooks, which were highly admired. At that time, I decided to try selling online. Thus Artpixie (my first store was born.

Meanwhile, I took a summer drawing class, which ended up being an advanced methods exploration. I was reminded that painting and drawing bring me peace. I have realized that this may be the path in life that I am to take. I also enjoy the paper arts: stamping, die cutting, collage. quilling and other other mixed media methods, which you will also see in this store.

In the past few months, I have realized that I have two separate stores residing under the Artpixie umbrella. I have therefore begun to migrate my stockings and other holiday and decor items to this store.

We have a dog, a hamster and a fireplace. Hamster fur is unlikely, but a stay dog hair may escape me, and since the fireplace is in the same room where I sew, the stockings may have a faint smoke smell (which I try to avoid). Please let me know if you have any special concerns.

Frequently asked questions
Custom and personalized orders

Can you embroider names?
I do not currently have the means to machine embroider names to stockings. However, you will find several options for wooden initials and name tags in my store. I also offer hand embroidered names. Contact me for more details.

How do I make a custom request?
If you see a stocking you want to change slightly, use the "request a customization" button within the listing. If you need something not listed in the store, please send me a message.

Please note: If the stocking you request is fan art or already available from another seller, I will likely decline & refer you back to them. To make the item, would be theft of intellectual property and a horrid breach of etiquette.

Care instructions

Hanging towels can be machine washed. However, cold water and a gentle cycle are recommended to extend the life of your towel.

If your stocking needs cleaning, even spot cleaning, I highly recommend consulting with a professional. I use many different types of materials and they may require special cleaning techniques.

Why is my item a slightly different color than online?

This is one of the challenges of selling online. I check my images on my laptop and iPad, and again on my work computer to try and ensure accuracy of item coloring. However, your screen settings may vary from mine and therefore the color may be different. If the item you receive from me will not work, contact me within the required timeframe (14 days) and we will work together to find a solution.

Why so much for shipping?

Shipping costs continue to rise, and I often include insurance - especially with one of a kind stockings. I use recycled shipping materials when possible to reduce costs. I make every effort to ensure you are charged just what is needed to cover my cost for shipping and packaging.

Approval Prior to Shipping

It is my practice to send an approval picture prior to shipping any made to order or custom created item. If no response is received a second e-mail is sent the next day. If no response is received, the item is considered as having been approved and may be shipped as is. As a buyer if changes or additional photos are needed prior to approval, please request them. Changes to an item may delay shipping beyond the original time given for the item, especially during the Christmas Holiday season. I will do my best to ship within the original shipping window.

After an item has shipped, the buyer is responsible for any return shipping if changes are requested or if the item is eligible for return or exchange.
