About

Handmade with moxie and love

I started Arts, Crafts, & Mayhem as an idea in the spring of 2011. It was a secret idea, really.
A what if. A maybe later.
Then the idea turned into sketches and questions. I knew what Arts, Crafts, & Mayhem *felt* like--but I had no idea what it actually was! Was it a clothing line? Was it an illustration studio?
I still find myself asking and answering those questions frequently throughout the infancy of my shop.
In December 2011, I "opened my doors" featuring a line of jewelry made from the proofs of limited edition block prints. I also added the prints, because, well, that makes sense!
As time goes on I hope to add to the shop more and more. I hope you stay tuned to see where my adventure takes me next!

Hi! Thank you so much for checking out Arts, Crafts, & Mayhem! I hope you like what you see as much as I like making it for you!

Each piece from Arts, Crafts, & Mayhem is carefully made from my recycled original block printing proofs. In block printing, a proof is essentially like a “rough draft” of your artwork. You use these rough drafts to determine how your final print(s) will look and what, if anything, needs to be changed. Eventually, these proofs start to pile up, and I’m a bit of a sucker about holding on to things, rather than throw them away. That’s when, one day, I had a bit of an epiphany… Why not turn my proofs into something new, unique, and beautiful? And so began my jewelry line!
