ABSOLUTELY GORGEOUS!!? Purchased a set of the hammered ring and the opal stacking ring and am absolutely in love. I also bought a set for my mother for xmas, but not sure I can wait that long - these rings beg to be worn at all times!?? The artist was able to size my mom's set at a quarter size, so I know it'll fit perfectly, and the rings came beautifully packed in gift boxes and ribbon - ready for gifting. Thank you so much for an awesome Etsy experience. I will definitely be back.

The necklace is the perfect size; not too big, but large enough for the exquisite details in Heather's work to be shown. It has enough weight to keep it from flipping over, but isn't heavy. It arrived within 3 days of ordering it! Now we're hoping Heather makes the my daughter's wedding rings!
The Mitsuro Process
Heather has studied the mitsuro technique for nine years, perfecting her recipe and learning to bring out the natural beauty of the material to form wearable art and jewelry. Mitsuro is a rare 1,300 year old Japanese blended wax technique that creates organic designs with beautiful striations.
Since it is not commercially available, the process begins by cooking specific ratios of materials together to create the mitsuro wax. After cooling, the wax is heated to body temperature and hand manipulated by pulling, twisting, and folding. During this process, delicate striations, called hikime, are created in the mitsuro wax to lend to the organic shapes and nature inspired designs that Heather Scott utilizes in her sculptural wearable art jewelry.
Accentuation of the striations and textures are created during the finishing process by patination and selective polishing after the pieces are cast into silver or gold. This technique adds a striking contrast in the fine contours of Heather’s works.
