Hello, my name is Asami. Born and raised in sunny Southern California, I grew up learning how to appreciate various cultures in a diverse community. I spent most of my time drawing or gazing at English and Japanese picture books during my childhood. My designs are inspired by "bold" American and "delicate" Japanese cultures. I love working digitally but also with good old-fashioned pen and paper. I place a great deal of weight on adding organic and handcrafted elements when I create my work! I always look for inspiration and focus on doing the things I love.

I spent several years in web design and translation/interpretation in Tokyo, Japan. After working for ten years in New York City and five years in the Bay Area as a freelance web/graphic designer, I currently live in the Boston, MA area as a creator, wife, and mother. I travel to Tokyo on many occasions and craft in my spare time.
