Thank you for visiting my shop! My offerings are handcrafted using local materials whenever possible, and no two items are exactly alike. I like to create things that might have some utility with a little imagination.

Your purchases ship from Vancouver Island, British Columbia, Canada... just shy of the 50th degree latitude, in a land of mountains, trees, ocean and river, where I make my home with two dogs, two cats, and one tall man (whose delightful goggles for the discerning mad scientist can be found at http://www.etsy.com/shop/steampunk22)

Payment
At this time I accept only payment through Paypal. Payments through Paypal with eCheck is fine by me, but it's very important to message me and communicate that this is your payment method! If no payment is received within three days, and no communication regarding your order/payment is received, I will need to cancel your order to recover my fees. Thank you in advance for your understanding and prompt payment!

If you need to cancel a sale from my shop, please message me within 24 hours, or I will expect payment in full as per the above policy. If you have already paid for the item, you will be able to recover your payment less my fees provided you message me within 24 hours.
Shipping
Your purchase will ship within 3 business days once your payment has cleared. I will ship to your listed "ship to" address on etsy unless you tell me otherwise in a message with your payment.

Items are shipped in bubble mailers using recycled mailers when possible. Mailers are reinforced with extra cardboard.

As an additional protective measure to make sure you receive your item, you will receive an email once I have received your payment confirming the "ship to" address and stating your expected shipping date. Typically these emails will go out the day before shipping. If the shipping address in this email is NOT correct, you will need to respond to this email by the deadline stated. I really want you to get your stuff, so check, check and double-check your shipping address and everything will work out!

IF YOU ARE PURCHASING SOMETHING AS A GIFT and you would like this gift to be a splendid surprise delivered right to someone's door... please include the giftee's mailing address, and a short personal message (about 100 characters), and this will be handwritten on a little gift card will be included with your gift. Please also let me know if you'd like the gift to be sent anonymously (aren't you saucy!) or if you'd like the receiver to know that it was YOU who was so sweet!

IF YOU HAVE PURCHASED MORE THAN TWO ITEMS it is likely that I can combine items into one package and save you some money! Just message me with each purchase and I will refund you the shipping difference once it has been calculated. Items must be purchased together.

I ship using Canada Post unless otherwise requested. I do not have access to all carriers in my area, so if you absolutely MUST have your item shipped, for example, via magic carpet, please message me and we'll see if we can work something out!

CANADIAN CUSTOMERS

Your purchase will ship as per your shipping option choice through checkout. Insurance against loss and damage can be included in the price of all shipping methods for an item up to $100. Please message me if you would like to purchase insurance, as this is not normally included with Regular Parcel/Regular Letter Mail. Items are shipped via Regular Parcel/Regular Letter Mail and do not have tracking. Typically items arrive via Regular Parcel within 7-10 business days, but Canada Post does not offer a time guarantee.If you would like, you may have your items shipped via Xpresspost. This method has a guarantee from Canada Post of three business days to arrival, and include insurance. A tracking number with delivery updates is included in your shipping price.

Local pickup within mid-Vancouver Island or at major ferry terminals can be arranged. Please contact me for details.

UNITED STATES OF AMERICA CUSTOMERS

Your purchase will ship as per your shipping option choice through checkout. Insurance against loss and damage is included in the price of all shipping methods for an item up to $100. Items shipped are normally shipped via Small Packet Service as this is the most economical. Items do not have tracking with Small Packet Service. Canada Post does not offer a time guarantee on Small Packet. You may choose to have your items shipped via Expedited Parcel, which includes a tracking number designated for your package in order to investigate if it gets lost, but you will not be able to view online updates as to its whereabouts. There is no delivery time guarantee from Canada Post for Expedited Parcel.


INTERNATIONAL CUSTOMERS

International shipping is done through Canada Post's Small Packet Service. Insurance against loss and damage is included in the price of shipping for an item up to $100. There is no delivery time guarantee from Canada Post for this service due to the possibility of delay at international customs. This shipping method is the most economical for you, but packages cannot be tracked. If your item does not arrive in 6-8 weeks, please message me and we'll see what we can do. It is very rare for an item to go missing in the mail, so please try to be patient! I know you're excited to receive your purchase :)

If you need your item by a certain date: I can ship via Canada Post's Xpresspost International. This service includes insurance and tracking and a delivery time guarantee. Please message me for further details.

Please note: International customers are responsible for any and/or all Customs fees, taxes, and duties associated with shipping & purchasing to their respective countries, should they be assessed. Most country's Customs agencies open and/or assess fees to a random selection of packages. Any customs fees, taxes, tariffs, duties, etc. that may be incurred at the time of delivery would be at the discretion of your country's tax regulations. I have no way of calculating how much these fees would be, should they occur, and I am not responsible for those charges. For any additional information please refer to your local customs agency.
Refunds and Exchanges
The nature of handmade items means that each one is unique, even if they are crafted in a similar or identical fashion. Your item may have some character that is not easily captured in photos. I try to describe my items fully: on the whole you should expect to receive what you see in my photos and read about in my descriptions.

Should you unfortunately require a refund:



Returns and/or exchanges are processed on a case-by-case-basis. If you receive an incorrect item, or if your item arrives severely damaged, let's talk!

Exchanges must be returned in their original, mint condition and in their original packaging within 7 days of arrival. Exchanges that are returned in damaged condition will not be honored.



Returns will not be accepted due to customs taxes, fees or duties.



All return shipping fees and postage costs are the responsibility of the customer.



Refunds will be processed less the actual original cost of shipping, a restocking fee, and my etsy fees, unless one of the following conditions apply:

- The wrong item was received
- The item was grossly misrepresented in the listing
- The item arrives severely damaged

In either of these two circumstances, your purchase will be refunded in whole or replaced at no cost.

Items *must* be returned in the exact condition received and when possible, in re-sellable condition. If an item is returned and expected to be returned in re-sellable condition (via communication between myself and the customer) but is received damaged, not in its original condition, and no longer sellable, I 'm sorry, but I cannot honor a refund.
