Announcement   I started teaching classes several years ago to knitting students who had trouble reading knitting patterns. When I finally started writing my own knitting patterns, I wanted to make sure they had all the quality components a good pattern has that I teach my students.
I take my time writing each pattern, ensuring it is as free of errors as possible. I also like to include both charts and full written instructions. Knitting patterns are always very condensed, but the more information you can provide the less room for wrong interpretation.
I also love detail in patterns so I love to mix cables, lace and other knitted techniques. I also love knitting small, quick projects that are easy to take with me because I love to knit when I travel.

About

Astraknots - making love visible one stitch at a time

I started knitting back in 2005 when my best friend saw a girl on the train knitting. She came home and said "We have to learn that!". And so we decided to teach ourselves and each other to knit.
I was already a crafter - my mom taught me to crochet when I was a kid while we watched the Broncos games. Another best friend of mine's mom did cross stitch, and once she showed me, I couldn't stop. I would stay up all night sometimes working on cross stitching projects.
I've been reworking knitting patterns for several years, and have written a few of my own. But decided I wanted to get more serious about producing patterns for sale. I have pretty high standards of my own for knitting patterns, and have even taught a class at my LYS about how to read knitting patterns where I cover in depth all the things that I believe make a good pattern.
