About us

Based in Montreal, Atelier Carmin was born from the meeting of a cabinetmaker- designer and a self-taught fashion designer.
Together, they draw their inspiration from different artistic spheres to create elegant, singular and timeless jewels.
They use in modern way cabinetmaking techniques such as geometric marquetry, the use of exotic woods, or brass inlays, to give a unique character to Carmin creations.

Care instructions

We take the greatest care in the finishing of each of our jewels.
Although the wax and varnish applied to each piece of jewelry provide long-lasting protection against tarnishing and oxidation, here are some tips to keep your jewelry clean and beautiful for longer.

- Do not spray perfume directly on the jewel.
- Avoid direct and prolonged contact with skin, sweating, during sport for example.
- Avoid contact with other jewelry and metal objects. Friction can deteriorate the jewel’s varnish.
- Do not store the jewel in a very humid environment such as the bathroom.
- Do not leave the jewel very close to a direct heat source.
- Always place your jewelry on a soft surface.
- Avoid forcing claps, joints and metal frames.

Cleaning instructions

- Clean fingerprints or grease with a soft cloth.
- For brass parts: moisten the cloth slightly with warm water for stubborn marks.
- Do not use hot water, detergent or cleaning product.
- All wooden parts are finished with a clear microcrystalline wax polish. If you want to revive the colors or the luster of the wood, use a neutral wax in small quantity and rub gently with a soft cloth.

Wood grain colors and variations

As we use solid wood or natural wood veneer in our creations, each jewel has slight variations in colors and wood grain.
It is possible that the jewel that you will receive will not be perfectly identical to the pictures.
Especially for rosewood which has a very pronounced and nuanced grain.
But other woods we use like purpleheart, mahogany, ebony or padouk only have subtle variations of color and wood grain.
