Creating whimsy for the masses

Sometimes you go out and see a cute, funny hat a child is wearing and you KNOW you want it. You don't want to rush out to any local store and get something too thin, unreliably made and too small for you anyway. Sure you save a dollar but it's not what YOU want. I create crochet items that ARE what you want. In the size you want it.

I had not tried to crochet since I was 9 years old. I was in my 30s and had been laid off from work. I was anxious and depressed. A friend of mine suggested I start to crochet or knit to take my mind off of the anxiety. I picked it all back up with ease and the therapeutic value is immeasurable! The creations seemed to slide off my fingertips. I was making hats for my children and others.

It wasn't long before my kids were covered up in crochet and I decided to sell some of my work. A couple of years later I began publishing my patterns as I had realized that I spent a lot of time on Etsy, not just searching for hats or ideas but for patterns to create those things on my own.

I am currently also working on making jewelry designs for Doctor Who fans!

Overall I am a cheerful, whimsical and fun loving person. I love wearing hats that make me giggle or feel like a kid again. It's hard to find items that fit me because all the fun stuff seems to be fore kids. I love making and selling things that give others joy and happiness for themselves or to gift to others. This shop not only helps me feel peaceful but gives others joy and that makes it all worthwhile. :)

I crochet whimsical hats for all ages, make patterns so you can create them yourself and design jewelry you can love for a lifetime. I love what I do, the joy it gives others and the freedom to do it from home.

Welcome to my little shop! Many of my items are custom made just for you but often I have a style or design that people love and so I'll make extra. Those are in the Click'n'Ship section of the store.

Custom made orders will take some time to create and ship it to you. Generally, I try to do this within 5-7 days, sometimes less or more depending on the season or how busy I am with orders at the time. Should I need more time than this I will update my Etsy page and email you directly when the purchase is made. Convo me if you have any questions. I do try to get the item done quickly so sometimes I can have them out within 24 hours.

Patterns are available now as PDF Digital Download and are available immediately after Etsy confirms the purchase.

Many details about my items are put on my blog. How they were created, yarn used, back story, etc.

I would love for you to share any customer photos or stories of creation from a pattern of my design. :) I enjoy what I do and LOVE when others enjoy it too.

Returns and exchanges
Regretfully I can not vouch for the reliability of the USPS or mail carriers that bring your packages. I will do my best to let you know when the projects are complete and when they have been shipped. If you do not request insurance or confirmation I have no way of tracking your items. I do greatly apologize for any items lost or damaged but once they leave my hands (with a little wave and blowing it a kiss goodbye) I am not responsible for them.

Pattern purchases are non refundable.

Hat purchases are only refundable if the hat is the wrong size and only within 7 days of purchase. As a general rule I will speak with you and attempt resolution (offer to make a hat of the correct size) and swap hats with you. If this is not suitable, you will receive a refund for your purchase but not for shipping or taxes.

Jewelry is only refundable if I have sent you an incorrect order. I am not responsible for allergic reactions, etc as they are beyond my control. I make it clear what I am selling and what was used in the making of that item. This also has a limit of within 7 days of purchase to receive a refund.

As with all orders I want you to be pleased with your purchase and will work with you to make sure this is the case.

I recommend washing each hat in cold water on hand wash (or hand washing) and placing on a flat surface to dry. You may fluff them on low heat in your dryer for 5 minutes but any time in the dryer or on a faster speed in the washing machine can cause frizzing and furballs. I can not be held responsible for items washed on the wrong setting causing damage to the hat. On each listing, here and via email/mail after purchase you are given washing instructions.
I currently accept Visa and Paypal.

I know that not everyone will have a paypal account. If we arrange another means of payment, please understand I will need to wait until the payment is received before shipping your item(s). If payment is not received within one week from our discussion I will assume you have reconsidered and place the item up for sale again.
Generally I will be shipping via USPS Standard First Class mail unless otherwise specified by you via email. I can insure and get you any confirmations you request, but you must request them. The day I mail your items I will email you to let you know that it has shipped. International items I can also send but I will need you to first email me so that I can research how much it will cost in shipping for the item(s).
Additional policies and FAQs
I am always willing to work with you and discuss any item or customization you can think of. I take great pride in everything I make and would never knowingly send something that I wouldn't want to keep for myself. Please feel free to email me, follow my blog, or add me on facebook. Thank you for visiting my humble page. ;)
