Note from shop owner I've put my shop on indefinite hold due to having just our sold house. Husband dear and I are hitting the road to RV full-time...so, I'm working on selling off my pillow covers and fabric stash (see the fabric at AtomicLivinVintage.etsy.com ) and most of our belongings! :)

(If you really want to order something, send me a note. I may be able to make something for you.)

Those of you who've ordered things...I am finishing up your order and will have it to you shortly.
Feel free to contact me here.

Blessings ~

About

Finding a creative outlet for my vast collection of fabulous fabrics!

UPDATE: Mar. 2016 ~
After a lot of thought, discussion and prayer, I've decided that it's time to stop making pillows and coasters full time and go on a long adventure with Husband Dearest in a motor home. We're still young enough to enjoy many years of adventures yet!
We may never land in one place again. Who knows?! :)

My husband retired about 6 years ago after a 30 year career as an Army officer. Since then he's been a wonderful help to me in this business, being my mailman, shopper and advocate, among so many other job titles.
So, although it's very difficult to stop doing something that I've loved so much, I'm retiring from full time "making". I've got so many incredible fabrics that have never seen the light of day as pillows that I may make some, as we go along downsizing and preparing for RV life, and list them as I get the fancy.

I wish you all the very best and thank you for your wonderful support and friendship these past several years.

Doing what I love, with fabrics I cherish, and making things that special people like you think enough of to put them into your homes and businesses, well, that's got to be among the most special, wonderful blessings in the world!!

It's meant so much to me to get your heartfelt feedback and photos, telling me how much you love what I made for you. I can't express the extent of my gratitude to all of my beloved customers!

Thank you, thank you...from the bottom of my heart!

God bless you all~! :)

My Story:

I've been sewing since I was about 8, way back in the 1960's! I started making little outfits for myself with a needle and thread. When my mom got a Singer sewing machine that same year, I started learning to sew like a "big girl". All through junior and senior high, in the 70s, I took sewing and costume design classes. Sewing was such fun...although it didn't keep me off the streets! ;)

Always feeling a need to create things I took many art courses in college and beyond.

I used to do something special and unique with terra cotta pots, fabric, paint and polyurethane. (My pots shop here is SunstrokeStudio.com ) I sold my pots at craft fairs across the country for 10 years and had a wonderful time! I still enjoy making them from time to time, especially using retro themed fabrics.

But, the lure of retro barkcloth, both vintage and reproduction, became a huge collection and then a business idea...

I began making purses with my retro fabrics in 2008. I sold them on etsy and did a nice business. (AtomicLivin.com)
Then, one day, I got an email from a brilliant someone who suggested I make pillows. What a great idea! Seven wonderful years later, things are moving along beautifully. You can now choose from more than 200 styles of covers in multiple sizes, as well as some pretty neat tile coasters with my fabulous fabrics on them!
As I increase my fabric collection regularly, expect to see more patterns emerge.

I'm enjoying sewing for all of my wonderful customers and appreciate the fact the people are happy to have what I make in their homes and businesses. What a feeling! :)

I am a perfectionist, so you'll only get a product that I would be pleased to display and enjoy in my own home. No cutting corners here!

Many thanks and blessings to you ~

Growing up in the late 1950s, 60s and 70s was magical! So many wonderful, yet, simple things from that time are gone away ...now, I keep them in my heart... Vintage fabrics from the era have a special place there!
