    About RubiesandRemnants

    A Journey

I started collecting vintage items when I was a child. I remember my first purchase was this small china pitcher with roses on it. I have not stopped collecting since that time. My decision to sell on Etsy was to support my on going habit. Most collectors will tell you that at some point they just run out of room in their house if they are not careful.

With Etsy, I've enjoyed selling all over the world! I am most pleased when someone finds that special item they have been searching for and hoping to find for years.

Although I opened my shop years ago, I have had some roadblocks on the journey. Unfortunately, I was diagnosed with breast cancer and my business was put on hold. It took over a year to recover, but I am happy to report my cancer is gone and has not returned at this point.

I'm fortunate to live in a small town near Charlotte, N.C. Here I make regular visits to estate sales and thrift stores, searching for vintage items to make into art. I have sold jewelry for years, and I opening a new Etsy store soon. I will be making bridal accessories with new and vintage pieces.

I live in S.C. but love traveling. My picture above was taken in NYC. I am blessed to be in a great community where we eat good food, worship together, and carry one another's burdens. My love of vintage inspired this store.
