Announcement   Welcome to Augusta Designs, my online store featuring some of the jewelry I create in my Atlanta studio. I draw inspiration from antique and vintage designs and symbols as well as the beauty of the natural outdoor canvas of life. Many of my designs reflect the my journey - from collecting sea glass glass along the beaches of my childhood in South Florida, to my time living and working in New Orleans, Louisiana; where I learned a way to translate the beauty of the bayou into my passion of beautiful handcrafted jewelry.

About

From Palm Beach to New Orleans to Atlanta.

I began creating jewelry when I was a child, collecting sea shells and sea glass from the beach near my home in south Florida and using them to create jewelry to give as gifts to my family and friends. In 1999, looking for a creative outlet from my corporate job in entertainment marketing and public relations, I found a way to combine my creative talent with a love of fashion and started my own jewelry line for wedding parties and special events. It wasn't long before people were recognizing my unique style of using an artistic combination of quality materials and detailed graphic patterns to create one-of-a-kind jewelry. After a great response to my designs, I decided to take the next step and start selling to local boutiques. The business grew rapidly and after only a few months, I decided to pursue it full time.

In 2005, Hurricane Katrina prompted me to move from New Orleans to Atlanta. When I began looking to purchase a home in Atlanta, I decided to search for a property that would allow me to continue my home-based business, but have a distinct area where I could meet clients who were looking for custom pieces while also being able to sell my jewelry in a retail store. The work-live townhomes at Kirkwood Station on the eastern side of downtown Atlanta were the perfect option.

Since moving to Atlanta, I've expanded my business by continuing my education, allowing me to use new techniques and materials to enhance my designs. I'm constantly experimenting with new techniques and materials so be sure to check back here often to see the latest designs or visit my store. I'm currently studying gemology through the Gemological Institute of America, working towards the distinction of graduate gemologist in 2010. As a certified PMC instructor, I hope to introduce jewelry making classes using this modern material as well as simpler techniques like beading, pearl knotting and making jewelry from recycled materials.

INTERNATIONAL BUYERS:

If your country charges a Value Added Tax (VAT) on imported goods it is your responsibility to pay this. Orders shipped to countries outside of the United States may be subject to import taxes, customs duties and fees levied by the destination country for the purchase price. The recipient of an international shipment may be subject to such import taxes, customs duties and fees, which are levied once a shipment reaches your country.

Additional charges for customs clearance are your responsibility. I have no way of knowing what the VAT or customs charges are in your country.

If you are an international (outside of the United States) customer and are not familiar with your countries VAT or customs charges please research them and make yourself aware before purchasing. I ship first class international. I will not ship your item marked as a 'gift', please do not ask me to as this is illegal for purchased goods.

Payment
Payment is due via PayPal at the time of sale. No Echecks please. Payments by Money Order are accepted only through certified USPS Money Order and must received in full and cleared before order will begin. Residents in the U.S. state of Georgia pay an 8.00% sales tax. Please do not put an item in your cart until the day you plan to pay for it. Items placed in your cart are removed from store inventory and therefore it is important if you put an item in your cart that you pay for it that day. Thank you for understanding. If you have any questions about my payment policies please feel free to convo me.
Shipping
International orders: It is the customer's responsibility to pay for any Customs, Tariffs, VAT fees, etc. that your country charges on the receiving end. All international packages will be labeled "Merchandise - Fashion Accessories" or similar wording. We can't state "Gift" on the package, and will always list the actual price of the item as its value.

For most regular orders, I do my best to ship within three days of receipt of your payment. If you have any questions about shipping cost please convo me, I'll be happy to help. As stated above, I will not pay VAT or customs fees for your country. Postage from here to your country is paid in full when I ship, otherwise the item would be returned to me by the Postal Service.
Refunds and Exchanges
CUSTOM ORDERS ARE NOT REFUNDABLE. If a custom listing was made for your order, your item is engraved or stamped with name, initial or any other special wording, this would be considered a custom order.
Most other items are eligible for refund if returned in the same condition as they were shipped and in the same container or one of similar strength.
You have 10 business days from the time of your receipt of your purchase to return your item for customers in the United States and fifteen business days to return the item for international customers.
Please convo me before returning any order.
I do track all packages through Etsy. If you return an item, insurance and tracking is highly recommended. Once I have received the item I will refund your purchase price ONLY, not the cost of shipping. I stand behind my workmanship and want you to be happy with your purchase.
