Announcement   Auntduzee's Antique and Vintage Button Shop will be taking a break starting September 2016.

I will be very busy with commissioned sewing projects here in Connecticut and cannot devote the time necessary to service both arenas. So I have packed up the thousands of never before listed buttons for now and may decide to incorporate them into something fabulous down the road.

Once these last few active listings are gone ... well ... a treasured chapter will close while another one begins.

If you have purchased one or more of my buttons since 2010, you should know that it was truly a pleasure to serve you. Drop me a line anytime. A special thank you to the Etsy teamvintageusa members who are the most supportive group I know! And my eternal admiration goes to daisychestnut for introducing me to Etsy way back when - xoxoxo

I am proud to offer a stunning collection of vintage glass buttons, vintage metal buttons, vintage rhinestone buttons and more. Each one is a little spark of inspiration that will set your ideas in motion to create a most unique, one-of-a-kind or limited edition design … just perfect for that special "little" something!

I have been collecting these little beauties - mostly from US and European origins - for quite a while now and find that it is time to share my finds with creative people who realize the significance of the old school quality craftsmanship used in their designs. If you are a collector of all things old and beautiful, a haute couture enthusiast, a costume maker or an artisan who creates sensational designs using vintage buttons, you will not be disappointed!

About

Preserving The Creative Past ... One Button At A Time

I've always been able to express my creativity as a way of extending the usefulness of found items by re-working and re-purposing them – my own definition of “waste not, want not” you might say.

I found my first vintage button in the 70's, loved it til I lost it, and couldn't find another one until I attended my first vintage clothing show in the early 90's. I remember coming home from that first show thinking how admirable it was for the button sellers to care about preserving the lost art and all the collectors who didn't want to see them get buried in a rusty heap somewhere (like so many antiques that end up in unappreciative hands). That inspiration motivated me to get educated about buttons and from then on gather them from many cultivated sources to someday use in my creative re-purposing projects.

Well, almost 20 years later, my collection had grown to several lifetimes worth and I needed to start thinking about saving some and reselling the rest to lovers of these little bits of beauty. My great Etsy seller friend, daisychestnut, steered me in the right direction and that was the birth of auntduzee on Etsy.

I have met some wonderful Etsy buyers and sellers since that day in August 2010 and look forward to adding you to that list. I am always interested in your button passion story if you have the time to tell it!
