About

Aunt Eloise shares her best kept secret!

Hello & welcome to Aunt Eloise's Fruitcake Co.! My Aunt Eloise, who sadly passed away February 2015, was a very gracious and accomplished woman. The grace and joy she exhibited in every aspect of her life made her my hero along with my own mother. She ran her own catering business, which started in her kitchen for over 25 years in historic Charleston, SC. During that time, she also taught at Johnson and Wales University, ran The Magnolia Tea Room, and managed the Charleston Country Club dining room. Each year, her company catered the International Trade Show in Charleston for over 900 people! She's even catered a luncheon for Princess Caroline of Monaco! I could go on and on about her accomplishments; I am a very proud niece!

As a child, the highlight of my birthday each year was helping Aunt Eloise make my birthday cake and being allowed to decorate it. She loved being in the kitchen and her joy of preparing and presenting delicious and beautiful food was contagious.

Upon returning to the United States In 2009 after living overseas for 10 years while my husband was serving in the US Navy there, I was privileged once again to spend time with Aunt Eloise in the kitchen. She taught me how to lovingly bake this moist and delicious fruitcake for which she had gained a great following! I began selling locally to friends and friends of friends, but when a local candy shop wanted to sell it, I had to get serious and start a business. When asked what name I should like for my business, I could only think, "Well, these are Aunt Eloise's fruitcakes!" And that is how this business was born.

I am proud to present to you the best fruitcake in the world: Aunt Eloise's Fruitcake!

Enjoy!

My lovely part time assistant is my sweet 18 year old daughter who is willing to clean up after me on baking day. She also tediously places the cherries and pecans on top of the cakes to make festive holiday pieces of fruitcake art.
