Announcement    ★★★ 100% of the profits from EVERY item in this shop go to The Gateway for Cancer Research, where 99 cents of every dollar received funds groundbreaking research. As of 1/1/21, this shop has has raised $2,660.58 (& donated $2,662 so far). THANK YOU! ★★★

Our Aunt MaryJo lived bravely and graciously with cancer for more than two years. During that time, she worked, juggled chemo, medical tests and doctor's appointments and made beaded bracelets to support cancer research. It was her fervent hope that others might be spared her fate. Aunt Mary never lost her sense of humor or optimism but she did lose her battle with cancer in December 2006. I choose to honor her memory and those of others close to me who have never given up fighting, by continuing to make and sell cancer awareness jewelry and donating the profits --with the hopes that one day soon, no other person will have to suffer the way she did.

About AuntMarysLegacy

Sales 206
On Etsy since 2007

Jewelry made to fight cancer fiercely, inspired by love.

This shop began in 2007 as a community service project that my brother in law undertook when he was an undergrad. He was inspired by the strength and character of the amazingly loving, charitable woman who was his aunt Mary Jo . She was defeated after a long fight with cancer.

My brother in law made many bracelets and I photographed, described, sold and shipped them to people who wanted to help. We donated the profits to Relay for Life.
After about a year, he passed the shop on to me, and I have been slowly improving the products, expanding the designs, and donating to ever better charities dedicated to cancer research.

Currently, I donate 100% of profits to The Gateway for Cancer Research, who spend 99 cents of every dollar donated on the research itself!

Now, I also dedicate this shop to my father, Bruce, who is currently fighting a courageous battle against esophageal cancer, and my mentor, Katrina Morosoff Stout (artist, teacher, mother, strong-willed and opinionated wonder of the natural world who fought valiantly against the ravages of lung cancer).

Just a girl touched on both shoulders by cancer. I want to make a difference, so I donate all the profit from this shop to the Gateway for Cancer Research with hope that their radical research will find a way out of this predicament called cancer.

100% of the profit from each sale here is donated to the Gateway for Cancer Research- in memory of our incredible aunt Mary Jo Zukoski and in memory of my mentor, boss and longtime family friend, Katrina Morosoff Stout, and in honor of my father Bruce, who all valiantly endure(d) the horrors of their own cancer, as well as for all the countless others touched by the mysteries and tragedies of cancer.

Many of the beads that these bracelets have been made with were donated by caring Etsy members, who wanted to share the hope.

Frequently asked questions
I see you offer repairs. Can you repair my great aunt matilda’s gold filled pearl necklace that I didn’t originally buy from you?

Sorry, no. I offer repairs for items that were purchased from this shop originally. Unfortunately, I don’t have access to extensive materials and tools necessary to work like a proper jeweler.
However, if you still have all the parts of a beaded bracelet that broke, I may be able to restring it for you. In that case please contact me with details and photos. Differing complexity of these sorts of repairs may lead to different pricing.
Thanks for asking!
