Announcement Aventurine Dream is whimsical lampwork glass beads & jewelry. Cat beads, bird beads & other lampwork critters. Fun earrings, glass rings, pendants & beads for jewelry projects or charm bracelets.

Many of my beads are cat beads inspired by own two cats but I also do bird beads, fish beads, and other animal beads and I enjoy making fun animal amulets and talismans: Japanese lucky cats, colorful scarabs and more.

Handmade lampwork glass means I'm melting colored glass rods in a flame and shaping them into beads, buttons, rings, etc. All the decoration is glass - fine lines are "drawn" on with filaments of glass. Like my Aventurine Dream Facebook page and you can see some pictures of my studio and me in action making a lampwork bird bead there.

I make all the assembled glass bead jewelry you see in my shop: beaded bracelets or pendants that feature my handmade lampwork beads, cat dangle earrings and bird dangle earrings made with sterling silver findings.

happy lampwork animal beads to make you smile

I've been making handmade lampwork glass beads for over fifteen years but I settled into a permanent studio space as Aventurine Dream LLC in 2004 and just opened up my etsy shop at the end of 2011.

I especially enjoy making colorful, happy animal beads. Many are cat beads (inspired by my own cats Aurora and Nokomis). But I also do birds, parrots, fish, whales and other creatures. I like making a play on traditional animal amulets and talismans - for example with my Japanese lucky cats (maneki neko) or my colorful scarabs. I like to feel my beads are little "persons" with personalities and special powers.

I love the bright colors and optical properties of the glass. I have fun making colorful beads of all kinds: decorated spacers, large hole charm bracelet beads, leaf and flower beads, etc. But in truth I tend to think of these "other" beads as accessories for "my guys".

I make individual beads suitable for use in your own jewelry projects or to wear on a European-style charm bracelet. I also make finished jewelry: dangle earrings, glass rings, beaded bracelets and pendants. I've even been known to make buttons and cabinet knobs.
